I definitely loved adventure games more when gamefaqs didn't exist, and therefore my dad, brother, and sister would form a brain trust in order to solve the puzzles/beat the games. It's some of my best memories!

Now playing:

Crackdown Wheeeeee!

NHL 08 I think I will like this game more once I get used to the controls. It doesn't use face buttons for anything! Everytime the other team gets the puck in my zone I feel like I can't do anything to stop them. Offense is slightly better but still rough. I beat the 'Canes 5-1. I was playing on rookie.

My brother was one of the audio designers on Crackdown. In the funfair bit (I think that's what it was I've not really played the game) the clown laughing is him. So, yeah.

I had a hell of a lot more fun with Snake Eater while playing the Subsistence version. It has the original two Metal Gear games as well, which is awesome.

Yes, getting rid of the radar was one of the best things that series could do. I want them to remake MGS1 and 2 with Subsistence's camera.

Yesterday I went to EB to trade in Trace Memory, Mario Kart DS, and Mario & Luigi 2 (all great games, I just don't play any of them anymore), and for whatever reason, there's three used copies of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney -which I have been looking for for a year or two- sitting right there on the shelf. So I got one with the credit and now I still have eleven dollars left over. I do not anticipate regretting this at all.

I finally picked up MLB Power Pros. I played an exhibition game and it's a lot of fun. The crappy play-by-play and the terrrrrrible graphics (even for the Wii) make its PS2 origins pretty obvious, but it's a surprisingly deep baseball game and I really like the way everything's set up. It's got 16:9 and surround sound and the full 2007 MLB roster. It's got a separate mode in which you can use the Wiimote for motion control and your Miis as players and such, it's got a full sim season mode down to managing player salary, it's got a story mode where you go through college balancing baseball with homework and having a girlfriend and stuff in an attempt to be awesome and make it to the pros, and the controls are good. I'm impressed and pleased with everything but the graphics and sound, basically.

It's only $40, so if you have a Wii and like baseball, I would say it's worth getting. Nintendo did just announce Mario Baseball Wii at a press conference in Japan last night, but Mario Baseball on the Gamecube was kind of lacking in features and I think the new one is still being developed by Namco, so I wouldn't expect a whole lot of difference.

I finished Phoenix Wright yesterday, so now I have basically nothing to do. I am getting a friend's copy of Pokémon Pearl on Monday, I think, so at least I can get back into that now.
I should go to EB and take a look at their used games again this weekend. I still have games I'm considering trading in, anyway.
Hey do you guys have any suggestions for games I can probably pick up used? preferably for the DS?

Also I'm still trying to finish up Trauma Center on the Wii. I have to treat four patients in ten minutes as part of chapter seven. Time's not an issue (I can get the first one, Tritti, in less than thirty seconds), but I keep losing my fourth patient.

I can't believe I have a game where you play as a doctor and a game where you play as a lawyer but no first-person shooters.
