I finished Bioshock today. Unfortunately, I didn't go back to my old save file and rescue the first couple little sisters, so I got the bad ending. While I was initially skeptical about 2K's announcement that they want to make a sequel, I think the bad ending actually does open things up for a kind of interesting idea for a sequel.
However, the bad ending is really abrupt (you see a short prerendered cutscene and then it boots you back out to the title screen immediately) and what happens just before the bad ending but after you beat the boss doesn't really make sense if you haven't harvested many of the little sisters. There should be, like, a medium ending for someone who did a mix. Oh well.
Overall, the game was enjoyable. I wish I had played through on hard mode, since the game ended up being really really easy and there's an achievement for beating it on hard

But I liked the atmosphere and having been basically a xbox/360 noob before this game, I now feel a lot more comfortable with the two-stick control. I'll never feel as skilled as I can with a keyboard and mouse, but at least I feel like I can aim a little bit.
I went out and bought Halo and Halo 2 for really cheap at a local store. I'm thinking I might try to play through both of them before Halo 3 comes out, because I have some coworkers who want me to play online co-op with them. I was originally planning on getting Metroid Prime, but I guess I might put that off a little bit longer.
One more thought: is it at all sad/disgusting to think about purchasing games earlier than I know I'm going to play them as a way of helping sales numbers? I want Nintendo to know that games like Metroid are appreciated, and I kind of feel like I should have bought it at launch because I wanted the launch to be a success. Similarly, I feel torn on games like Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon-- I think I will enjoy them, even if they're not great games, and I want more JRPGs to come to the console. I know that my 1 unit being sold doesn't make a huge difference, but what if EVERYONE said that and then noone bought the game and then we don't get any more RPGs on the console and at this point I'm just thinking way too hard about it all.
