But but but but but they're awesome. :depressed

I just finished Sam and Max. ScummVM gives me an error partway through the credits sequence, though, so I'm missing out on any "CONGRATULATION" type screen. I totally loved the game, though. The funniest moment was when the "EDUTAINMENT" sign rolled on screen.

I played through that game so much looking for all the various jokes. I especially liked when Sam would break down in tears when you tried to get him to pick something up that he couldn't.

I use the line "Facilities be damned, I need a bathroom!" whenever I can in real life. It is infrequent.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2007. Me and some friends are trying to fill all of the other teams C with made up historical figures, pop culture icons, people we know, and a few made up guys. In terms of normal gameplay, I'm starting to play on professional. The step up rejuvinated my interest in master league.

I finished Bioshock today. Unfortunately, I didn't go back to my old save file and rescue the first couple little sisters, so I got the bad ending. While I was initially skeptical about 2K's announcement that they want to make a sequel, I think the bad ending actually does open things up for a kind of interesting idea for a sequel.

However, the bad ending is really abrupt (you see a short prerendered cutscene and then it boots you back out to the title screen immediately) and what happens just before the bad ending but after you beat the boss doesn't really make sense if you haven't harvested many of the little sisters. There should be, like, a medium ending for someone who did a mix. Oh well.

Overall, the game was enjoyable. I wish I had played through on hard mode, since the game ended up being really really easy and there's an achievement for beating it on hard :( But I liked the atmosphere and having been basically a xbox/360 noob before this game, I now feel a lot more comfortable with the two-stick control. I'll never feel as skilled as I can with a keyboard and mouse, but at least I feel like I can aim a little bit.

I went out and bought Halo and Halo 2 for really cheap at a local store. I'm thinking I might try to play through both of them before Halo 3 comes out, because I have some coworkers who want me to play online co-op with them. I was originally planning on getting Metroid Prime, but I guess I might put that off a little bit longer.

One more thought: is it at all sad/disgusting to think about purchasing games earlier than I know I'm going to play them as a way of helping sales numbers? I want Nintendo to know that games like Metroid are appreciated, and I kind of feel like I should have bought it at launch because I wanted the launch to be a success. Similarly, I feel torn on games like Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon-- I think I will enjoy them, even if they're not great games, and I want more JRPGs to come to the console. I know that my 1 unit being sold doesn't make a huge difference, but what if EVERYONE said that and then noone bought the game and then we don't get any more RPGs on the console and at this point I'm just thinking way too hard about it all.

casey there is a medium ending to bioshock but all that changes is the voice of the lady in the end (if you mixed it she sounds sort of sad but if you only killed em she sounds angry)

soda I am currently playing Blue Dragon and it's one of my favorite RPGs I've played in a long time so far. I don't play many RPGs though, so I don't know how good it would be to RPG enthusiasts. The biggest pro for me is no random battles (you can see them on the map and choose to fight them or not) but also right off the bat there seems to be well defined character roles in battle (physical attacker, magic attacker, and healer) which makes accessory/skill/spell organizing easier and I've had challenging battles but no impossibly annoying ones yet.

Anyway now that you're done Bioshock I'd recommend picking it up if you're looking for a good single player game.

I also wish I had played on Hard right off the bat. But this way I have a reason to play through again and try to get all the audio diaries/plasmids for those achievements (did you get the 2 cohen achievements?)

I got both cohen achievements but apparently missed some of the audio diaries. I also didn't get the research completion achievements-- do you need to photograph the security cameras, turrets, and bots?

Yes. Luckily my brother already beat the game so he told me about that early on, so I was able to get it. It's pretty beneficial too because you get auto success when you hack the security bots and turrets. I missed the cohen achievements my first time around but loaded my save in Olympia Heights and was able to get them pretty easily.

I think the only one's I'm missing are the audio diaries, the plasmids, and the weapon upgrades (plus beating the game on hard)

which weapon upgrade did you miss? The only one that's really out of the way is the one in cohen's bedroom, but if you didn't kill him in fort frolic you should have been able to get that one. Did you skip Fontaine's Home for the Poor in Apollo Square?

Quite possibly. I think I missed 3 (inlcuding in cohen's apartment) so I wouldn't doubt it. I always thought I had explored everywhere, but since I missed cohen's apartment my first time around obviously I probably missed more.

I can't beat Super Macho Man in Punch Out!, and I'm gettin' pretty steamed. I can't win against someone like him.

His pecs are incredible.

Is that the same as Pro Ev 6? Two player is where it's at. Have you got the PS2 or 360 version? I think the PS2 version is much better in terms of everthing except graphics, but I'm not 7th so I don't really give a fuck about the graphics.

I also finished Bioshock the other day, I got the good ending but now it just crashes every time I try to run it so no second playthrough for me 'cause I can't be arsed reinstalling it. It was a pretty decent game, the plasmids and weapons were kinda underused by me, I was crowbarring the fuck out of abody. I even found it easier to take out the last guy with the crowbar than with a gun.

EA skate is phenomenal. Tony Hawk killer, no doubt in my mind. When they get a sequel out and fix the minor problems on this one, Tony Hawk is done, mark my words.

Like everyone says, you can either go through the goals or you can just play for fucking hours in free skate when you find a sweet spot. Just learning cool tricks and getting sick lines recorded.

This is the game I've been waiting for ever since trying to play Tony Hawk online for the first time. During a 2 minute competition, everyone but me was able to keep a grind combo going up to three minutes after the time ran out while I just sat there watching in amazement. So, basically, thank fuck for EA skate.

I dunno, I don't really care about realism or anything like that. I tried the skate demo and it was cool, but I can't see myself really wanting to play it a lot. I like how over-the-top Tony Hawk is, and I don't really care about online play. I buy the Tony Hawk games after they've been out for a while and I can get them for ~$25 and they are a fun time full of goofy stuff. There's a market for both games, I think, just like there's room for NBA Jam + more realistic NBA games.

How is this different from Tony Hawk? What you described is the same format THPS has been following for a while now, or at least since Underground. What are the new revolutions or whatnot, and why is there the need for a new skateboard franchise?

I guess that was a big problem with their recent patch for the game, but they said to fix it you just need to clear the xbox cache (hold down both bumpers on startup) assuming you aren't playing the PC version.

I also used my wrench almost exclusively, with the exception of the shotgun on the big daddies(and the endboss). Most of the other weapons I found to be pretty useless most of the time.
