last show i saw was green day at rod laver arena which im guessing none of you have heard of unless you like tennis a lot.. it was nearly a year ago... A YEAR AGO!

Bumped for a super important question. I have an opportunity to see the New Pornographers tonight, but it's kind of far away. I've never heard more than one or two songs by this band, but lots of people on this board seem to like them, and I have friends who like them too. Should I just say fuck it and spend major cash or pass this up?

I can't imagine what their live show is like, but it takes a good amount of talent to hold together the sound they put out. I'd see it just to see how well they can be themselves.

Saw Dead Can Dance at Radio City on Saturday night. Good show.

Interesting, though, that many of DCD's fans seem to prefer either Lisa Gerrard or Brendan Perry, and not particularly care for the other. A bunch of couche-tards near us would talk during Gerrard's solo pieces (grrr!!!), and I noticed a glot of people leave for the bathroom during one of Perry's pieces.

Anyway, they sounded huge with the orchestra. Nice show-- catch them if you can.

Just got back from the Dresden Dolls concert. Best concert ever. The amount of control they exerted over the audience is awesome. The guys I went with were pussies, though, and didn't want to get in the crowd by the stage. I didn't understand. Devotchka was one of the opening bands and they kicked ass. As good as I hoped they'd be.

Last show I went to was Turbonegro on Tuesday.

There's something about faux homosexual Scandanavians playing kickass catchy punk music in the middle of Philadelphia that makes me gleeful.

It was the best punk show I've been to, but it still doesn't compare to the greatness of Iced Earth live.
