After a nice stroke of luck last week, I managed to pick up the Ghostbusters collection at Walmart for only twelve bucks. So I got to spend an evening watching both movies, as well a few of the cartoon episodes that are included on the disc for Ghostbusters II.

I'm pumped ... at the local indy theatre, I am going to see The Aristocrats on Friday and then The Shining (one of my all time faves) on Saturday as part of the Kubrick series they are running ... will update on this later ...

as for movies i have just watched ... I saw the Office Special (sort of like a movie) last night and loved it ... David Brent's music video was simply amazing ... words cannot describe

that's amazing ... i still need to pick these two up on DVD ... Vigo is an American Icon ...

one of the best quotes ever has to be:
Peter Venkman: You know, I have met some dumb blondes in my life, but you take the taco, pal! Only a *Carpathian* would come back to life now and choose New York! Tasty pick, bonehead! If you had brain one in that huge melon on top of your neck, you would be living the sweet life out in Southern California's beautiful San Fernando Valley!

and Janosh scared the ever-loving crap out of me when i was "

I watched the rest of Arrested Development: Season 1.
Wayne Jarvis might be the best character in television history.

High Fidelity. I love that movie.

Also, Adam's huge-ass avatar makes the baby Jesus cry.

I watched the first Tomb Raider movie on TV the other night. It actually wasn't terrible, but I"m not sure why people paid money to see that in the theater...

Probably on account of people being assholes who can't be trusted to spend their money in a manner productive towards the progression of society.

Fantastic Four...not as horrible as I was expecting.

Unleashed...incredible action sequences but the plot is a bit silly.

While I'm pulling a time bend here, this has usually been the official Everything Concerning Movies thread. So I'm really stoked about Sin City next week.

I watched American Werewolf in London the other day.

Oh man, was it ever awful. And the ten minute sex scene was completely uneccessary.

You're fucking crazy. The story was so-so, but the special effects for the time that it came out were goddamn mind-blowing.

I'd be so much more stoked if the cock smokers would release the super-duper deluxe edition sooner than next year...

Also, I'm with Bis on this. The transformation scenes are awesome. No one else had done the whole disgusting (and logical) bone snapping sound effects and the like. The movie is a true classic.

Yeah, the special effects were awesome, but that can't save a bad movie, just look at The Hulk. I didn't say I didn't like it, though.

Rock School.

Sky High.

Yep. It was actually cheesier & Disneyer than the trailer would suggest, but for fuck's sake, it's about superhero high school. Like I'm going to miss out on that! Those of you with kids might enjoy taking them, at least.
