When a band's best song is not on their best album

50% of the bands discussed in this thread have recorded at least one song about having a magical ticket that lets them go anywhere and do anything. Guaranteed.

any self-respecting TMBG fan will tell you that Flood is the commercially successful album (with all the Tiny Toons songs on it), but that Lincoln is the money album

RHCP is disqualified. Their best song is definitely "Could Have Lied" and Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic is my favorite album ever.

Rolling Stones
Best Song - Sway
Best Album - Exile on Main Street (But they almost didn't qualify because Sticky Fingers is amazing)

Top 5 TMBG songs I can name off the top of my head that are neither on Lincoln (because B is right) and also better than both Museum of Idiots and Reprehensible:

5. Birdhouse In Your Soul
4. I Hope That I Grow Old Before I Die
3. Spiraling Shape
2. I Should Be Allowed To Think
1. The End of the Tour

Lincoln? Really? I chose Flood mostly out of sentimentality but I would think most fans would say The Spine is the money album.

but yeah none of those songs better than reprehensible

ahem

a little thing called SCREAMING INFIDELITIES would like to have a word with you
so if you'd just step over here there won't be any troubles
man hands down is so much better and it's not even CLOSE

I'm with B on this one.

Also I like the full-band version of both songs better.

this is correct

but the best RHCP song is "dosed" and it's on "by the way" which is also the best album so

You're both crazy. Screaming Infidelities was his first big hit and he closed shows with Hands Down. He's had much bigger songs since than and he closes with Hands Down. Of his first two dozen songs only Hands Down rates higher than "melancholy" on the happiness scale. Hands Down isn't even my favorite song that he does but I can name a half dozen better than Screaming Infidelities.

I've lost track of who in this thread likes Dashboard Confessional and who is sarcastically pretending to like Dashboard Confessional.

Saw the dude open for the Trio back in 2000. Mad props were given. Swiss Army Romance is bomb.

I saw him open for Saves the Day. I was near the back, but it was still a pretty decent view because everybody was staring down at their own shoes.
