I guess this is more of that best versus favorite objective-subjective argument. I'm a much bigger fan of their funk punk stuff, so to say Can't Stop and Stadium Arcadium are of their best makes me cringe a bit. I guess I can understand if you prefer the new Chili Peppers stuff and it's okay to say whatever you feel is their best is their best. It just seems to me that there needs to be some sort of consensus for this particular thread or else you could take one artist with a large body of good work and have everyone give a separate opinion of their best song. Sorry to shit all over the notion of this thread and the subjectivity of it all, but what is the point of listing something that is so arguable?

Personally it would be hard to pinpoint my best Chili Peppers song/album. Some of my favorites are Breaking the Girl, Under the Bridge, Subway to Venus, Nobody Weird Like Me, Behind the Sun... Aeroplane. To pick a best? I wouldn't be able to say.

And thus I shall stay out of this thread.

No dude, I agree with you completely, and to be honest - "Could Have Lied" is maybe my favorite song (maybe) - but that was on BSSM, and I just can't commit myself to choosing ONE album as their best. So perhaps "Can't Stop" was a bit of a hasty choice on my part, and was chosen more so because I love that song, but was not a big fan of the By The Way album. You see what I'm saying here?
