I got my hands on the Jenny Lewis solo album and since I know a bunch of people on here like Rilo Kiley, I figured I'd share it.

Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins - Rabbit Furcoat

Tracklisting
1. Run Devil Run
2. Big Guns
3. Raise Up With Fists!
4. Happy
5. The Charging Sky
6. Melt Your Heart
7. You Are What You Love
8. Rabbit Fur Coat
9. Handle With Care
10. Born Secular
11. It Wasn't Me
12. Happy (Reprise)

For those of you who haven't used Megaupload before, there is a timer in the corner that says something like please wait x number of seconds. When that gets down to zero, the download is available.

Thanks, Lindy. Jenny Lewis, not unlike the Power Glove, is "so bad."

For some reason I only saw the "y" in "Jenny" and thought Huey Lewis got a new band.

I'm very disappointed. Sad

on topic: It looks interesting enough.

On a similar note, I saw the "j" "y" and "lewis" and thought it was Jerry Lee Lewis.

The album's not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

But I was expecting it to be the worst album of the year.

Pitchfork used the phrase "annoyingly chipper," in describing the voice of Jenny Lewis. I agree with that statement but some of the Rilo Kiley songs are real pretty. I like the song that calls California "a recipe for a black hole."

FUN FACT: I had a big crush on Jenny Lewis when she was in the Wizard and was somewhat jelous of Fred Savage's ability to woo her.

Pitchfork says a lot of things. Their reviews are really just about how many ridiculous adjectives they can come up with.

When it comes to chipper, Jenny's voice has nothing on the lead singer for Even In Blackouts.

Not to mention how obscure a narrative perspective they can write from.

"I'm going to review the new Bright Eyes album as if I were Lou Gosset Jr's lower-intestinal lining."

Pitchfork reviews, much like the nintendo powerglove, are so bad.

Heaven forbid they just say whats good and/or bad about an album in plain english without feeling the need to overcompensate for all the college admission boards that turned them down. The funniest part is when they diss a band for being pretentious while doing one of their goddamn 'theme' reviews where they, like Justin said, review the album as Lou Gosset Jr's intestinal lining. Glass house.

I admit that there was a time a year or two ago that i suckled the pitchfork teet and took their word as the inspired will of god. But after reading another review where they refered to some shitty jazz-fusion hip hop album as "...a refined cultural statement of epicurean demeanor, while still richly bacchian and hypsoliphigraphically poignant in its whimsical approach to rhyme scheme and fudlipractictioning..." I saw the light.

Anyways, I think this album has a cute title.

I used to read Skyscraper magazine and Pitchfork Media reminds me of an even more pretentious version of Skyscraper (who once wrote a review of an album by using 85% words that start with the letter 's', with the "humorous" disclaimer that says not to read this review out loud if you have a lisp), if that was even at all possible. Apparently it was.

Oh, these Jenny Lewis songs are not too shabby. I liked the first Rilo Kiley record and then stopped paying attention, but I might keep these songs around.

The thing about Pitchfork is that I can't even bring myself to hate them for their pretentiousness, because the whole using unnecessarily big words when smaller, more common words would suffice thing is one of the most blatantly insecurely pretentious things you can do. It's the same way with a lot of punk and indie bands (say, Propaghandi and the related Weakerthans). I feel like if I were to yell at any Pitchfork Media reviewer, they'd faint. Also, the thought of any of the rap nerds from the site going to, say, the Source Awards or an actual underground hip-hop show amuses me to no end.
