I just installed a neat little script that'll allow any linked MP3 to be played in the forum browser window. Normal bandwidth leeching rules apply, of course.
As a sample I figured I'd post the first single off of the new Harvey Danger album, since its available for free already and they're encouraging people to share the music with as many people as possible.

I think I'm missing the point of this invention. If all it does is play music in the browser, then...well, why not just play the music in Winamp or Windows Media Player or iTunes?

Why have cars when we can just walk somewhere? Its faster and more convenient, is why.

Great sentence. And analogy.
My question then becomes, why is it faster to stream an mp3 off a website that plays in your browser, as opposed to simply playing it through whatever media player you already use to listen to music? How is it faster? What is the advatage?

I'm just trying to understand the point of it. Seems to me like it's a ton easier to just download the mp3 and play it from your computer. If that program is easier, as you maintain it is, then I'd be interested in using it.
