Also, Super Princess Peach will be out in a little while. Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney looks fun as crap (apparently you get to shout OBJECTION! at your gameboy?), and the overall game quality on the system just seems to be rising.

One thing that has come up in many conversations (re: the DS and Revolution vs. other systems) with friends is that Nintendo seems to be more concerned with having fun than having the best hardware/graphics/online capability. I enjoy having fun, therefore for me Nintendo > all other video game companies.

If you play the DS for an extended period of time, it gets uncomfortable to hold. It's just slightly too large to be comfortable, and I think that the DS Lite, in addition to having nicer screens with adjustable brightness, is going to be just the right weight to hold for long periods of time. Also, playing Mario Kart for long periods of time, sometimes it starts to hurt my thumb. Of course, I ain't no bitch, so I keep playing.

I'm officially down to three games: Mario Kart, Meteos and I just bought Age of Empires yesterday. Nintendogs gets old fast, and while I enjoyed it initially, it got repetitive. My sister still plays all the time, so, whatever. Animal Crossing is one of the best games out there, I'm just not the right type of person to play it. It's a game you have to play every day, and I lost the desire to pull 9,000 fucking weeds everytime I forgot to play for 2 days. If you keep up with it, it's great. Plus, Wi-Fi!

Meteos is fabulous, and it's a game you can play for 5 minutes at a time, or 5 hours (if that's your thing).

Age of Empires DS is this: The Age of Empires art/sound/units/everything except the RTS part. It's turn-based, and actually pretty fun. I haven't played Advance Wars on the DS, so I can't compare them.

I'm pretty sure Wi-Fi Tetris is coming out soon (Tetris is, I'm unsure of the Wi-Fi status). New Super Mario Bros. looks pretty damn good--actually, really good. May 7 is too far away.

Playing on a train...probably wouldn't be that hard. I don't know, how much shaking would go on? If there's a lot of shaking, using the stylus becomes immensly frustrating. Using the buttons would still work fine, of course. As cool as the touch screen is, I find myself using the buttons whenever possible. With Meteos, the stylus is required. I'm pretty sure you can play without it, but it would be very difficult and not fun. Mario Kart is stylus-less, and I play Age of Empires without the stylus as well.

As someone who freaking loved animal crossing on Gamecube, it seemed to have lost it's luster on ds for some reason. I have psp and ds, and prefer PSP.

psp lol

(Yes, I realize it's one poorly made game rather than the system itself. But still.)

The other day I went out and bought a DS! Hooray! I got Mario Kart and Nintendogs with it. I have only played Nintendogs so far, but I haven't really taught my dog (his name is Joey) anything because I have been playing it on the train and talking into a microphone on a portable game console in public would be quite awkward I imagine.

Anyone else see that ridiculously awesome looking Mario platformer coming to the DS?

New Super Mario Bros

Fuck yeah man, that comes out the same day the DS Lite does. I'll surely be buying it (and probably the DS Lite even though I have a DS already )

Yesterday at Toys R Us I bought Pokemon Trozei, Super Princess Peach, and True Swing Golf (it was buy two get one free). SPP is Peach's own platforming game. It leans more to the simple side, but it's not bad. Trozei is okay, nothing spectacular (at least from what I've seen), and True Swing Golf is pretty goddamn awesome.

webber, any trouble controlling it on the train?

My wrists get sore after a while from holding it because it is so heavy, but apart from that it is ok. I wouldn't want to try it standing up though.

The more I see of the new Metroid the more I like it.

At the same time though, I got to see the new Daxter in action on the PSP recently, and it's really amazing. I just couldn't believe I was watching a handheld game. And it seems the PSP has a bigger RPG library, if you don't count all the GBA rpgs.

That's what makes it hard: you have to count all the GBA RPGs. The DS has a pretty decent library to start, and a great one that it's inherited. It's one of the best things going for it.
