Ever wondered what that little paper pile button between "home" and "about" does? It takes you to our archives. Usually just part of them.

https://www.progressiveboink.com/archives.htm

Mike and I decided we wouldn't be lazy assholes for two seconds (I'm just kidding, Mike is never lazy and I'm still in bed covered in blankets) and get everything caught up. Jon's archive hadn't been updated since the week we put up the summer design, so since this is the last week for THAT, we thought it to be a great balance. Of a particular happy note is that my "Progressive Boink" column is now bigger than my "Whatever-Dude, etc." column. That's a big moment for me.

We're all updated and ready to go. If you want to read some of the older stuff (or things you might've missed) we'd love to hear what you think, even if you've said it before.

Well if this is the place to talk about articles from the archive, then ok great!

This morning I read I Went Left Instead of Right in Pitfall and Kept on Tickin' And Now I Believe In Miracles
An absurdist play.

by Jon.

And it was amazing. It was deep and funny and well written and I don't know how I missed reading it when it was first published.

Just a few of the lines that I liked...

Jon wrote:

also...

Yeah, the idea behind the game, also known as "our lives", is to catch the suitcases from walking into those borders. Which, incidentally, are the same color as your shirt. Sorry about that.

Anyway, thanks for that, that was good.

I just read 'Flowers for Skid Vicious' by Jon, which I had never read before, and I thought it was awesome. One, it reminded me how much I loved Flowers for Algernon and B, it introduced me to a game I've been having alot of fun with. Bravoski!

Geez, thanks guys.

The Pitfall! post was kind of a significant one for me, because it was the one that helped to break me out of a rut I'd been in. I just decided to throw it in reverse and do something completely different from what I'd been doing, and it ended up being really, really fun. It's awesome to hear that you liked it.

"cinder blocks tied to our hands with rope"

Although I know I am missing out on something important with, "Will Sun bet a mitt?"

Not to be a killjoy, but I went back and looked at the Top 50 Fight Scenes, and I know what it's missing. I didn't want to criticize the piece before because naturally it's subjective, with a good attempt to be objective.

But it lacks the showdown between Charles Holloway and Mr. Dark in "Something Wicked This Way Comes". That's one of the greatest fights ever put to film.

Holy fuck, I had completely forgotten about how funny the Troy article is.

Probably the fourth time I've read it and I was in tears laughing all over again. I'd have to quote almost the entire article to do justice everything I found hilarious.

Holy fucking shit. As I was telling Lindy recently, it is one of my great fears that I will run out of P-Boi articles to read while at work. Now with this GARGANTUAN update, I know that by the time I finish all of the P-Boi articles, it will be time to read them all again. Thank you all so much for being the funniest, nicest, and most amazing group of people on the internet. This salute is for all of you.

EDIT: THOG Criterion Collection needs a star by it.

Bump

Because I just got all choked up again by reading Emily's softball article. It managed to convince me that everyone should be required to play a sport I never cared about before and to worship people I'd never even heard of before they encountered Jim Thome on The Dugout.
