i thought it was a great episode. then again, i liked the last one, which seems to make me a minority.
was anyone else surprised when erwich got it? i mean you always have to assume that the first bad guy you see on 24 is working for someone else, but i didn't expect him to go out so quickly.
also, i liked mrs. logan a lot more than i have before, since she was the only one to tell logan that he's being a pussy. i thought that was novick's job?
mcgill turning into a complete asshole was kinda predictable though. |

I enjoyed this episode cause it sets up what looks like great Logan and Curtis storylines. I'm not sure, but I don't think Mrs. Logan is actually trying so much to stop the Russian president from being killed. I think she understands the situation 100%. What she is doing is A) cementing that no blame be put on her husband and the U.S. about the bombings, stopping both the terrorists from releasing nerve gas that'll kill hundreds of thousands as well as preventing war with Russia, and B) cleaning herself of what she feels are her own sins by going along with all this since Cumming's suicide.
I'm really loving Mrs. Logan.
Don't be surprised Erwich's quick death. This kind of thing seems to happen at least three times a season.
For those of you who watch the "Scenes from the next 24," when they showed Curtis' scene, two thoughts went into my head. The first was, YAH, Curtis will finally get his moment to shine. The other was

No way is Martha trying to off herself. That's why she wanted Pierce to tell her husband where she was. I think her idea is that Logan might be a douche, but he's not enough of a douche to be complicit in his own wife's death. It's a balls-out bluff, and she looked a bit worried when Pierce told her he just left a message.
The Hobbit is flippin' out like Alberta Green, except, he's less evil and more paranoid. Bill Buchanan (w/ the Big Boss Man) must think getting imprisoned by the Hobbit is the lamest and most embarrassing thing to ever happen to his career, next to getting dumped by Michelle Dessler. Great scene, though, Sean Astin delivered the "I'm locking you bitches down" speech with such wonderful dungeons and dragons geek gravitas.
Audrey wasn't useless this episode! Good for her!
No Edgar. That's sad.
Curtis got choked out like a bitch. He was Chris Candido to Jack's Taz.
So yet another random guy from Jack's past is involved in shady shit. What a surprise. Hopefully he won't have a daughter that Kim has to masquerade as. Speaking of Kim, how much Kim-free time do we have before the show obtains a retarded B-plot? _________________ That's Sandy Frink? What the hell was I thinking? |

Apparently the random guy from Jack's past is the guy who recruited him to CTU. Also, he's played by Robocop. _________________

Sean Astin's character wears on me more and more as the show progresses. I just can't seperate his less menacing roles (it's the humdrum pitch of his voice) from his current one. The fact that he acts like a sandy vagina every 15 seconds doen't help either. President Logan is a twat in the same sense, but Gregory Itzin is a better actor and Logan is a better character so he pulls it off.
Curtis will die by the end of the season. He has shown way, way too much virtue recently, which means the writers are playing up the empathy card. So when they take him away from us, we will hurt that much more.
|
