So various sources have cited March 7th as the date Streetlight Manifesto's "new" album is supposed to hit stores and rock asses worldwide. I say new, because its an apparent reworking of Catch-22's "Keasbey Nights" album, which many (myself included) regard as one of the best third-wave ska albums to have ever been released, with several lyrical and musical changes and tweaks.
Now, its no secret that there once bad blood between Thomas Kalnoky and (what's left of) his former band and I'd really love for an album comprised of new material, I do think its pretty goddamn hilarious of him to just re-record the album he originally wrote just to (assumedly) take the piss out of Catch-22 for still playing the songs live.
This isn't the third part to the Keasbey Nights trilogy, though. That's rumored to be coming out this year as well. So between this, that and the SERIOUSLY GUYS ITS COMIN' ISN'T OUR EP AWESOME THOUGH?!?!?! Acoustic Bandits double-disc album, this is going to be a great year for me.
Anyway. Here's the CD cover. I love it. Its like they know they're so good that the cover doesn't need to be flashy or anything.
streetlight manifesto the band is nothing like the odyseey the book!
Anyway, let's discuss this awesome band and their awesome music in anticipation of what may or may not be an album comprised of blue grass revival!
BONUS THREADIT!
The members of Streetlight manifesto have long since been advocates for the free transfer of digital music, going so far as to offer the entire Acoustic Bandits' debut EP free for download on their website. In that spirit, I went ahead and uploaded the first two "chapters" of the Keasbey Nights trilogy for those of you who haven't heard them.
Part I - Keasbey Nights
Part 2 - Point/Counterpoint _________________
Didn't you know? Having uncontrollable shits is wicked scene.
I'm just glad they were able to buy new gear. _________________ And this is a promise, because this is true. This is real. This is Straight Edge.

I don't have Streetlight Manifesto's album, but I should. This guy at my school knew I liked Reel Big Fish so he told me to listen to them and I did and I loved them. Thanks for posting this and reminding me that I need to buy Everything Goes Numb. _________________ icesk8erkn: WHO R THO |
