I'll post the first 5 shows for now, and add more later. I'm not going to post the reviews in full here, I'll just post some highlights or a few words on each and link to them.

The Era of Honor Begins

EOHB is highlighted by the three-way between Christopher Daniels, Low-Ki, and American Dragon. It's a great, great match, one of the best three-ways I've ever seen, and better than the Daniels/Styles/Joe threeway from TNA. The review also features the beginning of my hate for Amazing Red/SAT/Divine Storm. This trend will continue for some time. Also, to learn about "RIGHT ON HIS BIG GAY HEAD" and "RIGHT ON HIS BIG GAY HEAD" accessories, read the review.

Round Robin Challenge

RRC is probaby the best of the early ROH shows. The three singles matches between the men from the aforementioned triple threat are all amazing matches. Ki/Dragon is one of my favorite matches ever. Also:
Quote:
Divine Storm vs. S.A.T. vs. Amazing Red & Brian XL

It's funny because Brian XL is actually rather small. Anyway, this is a match that got set up last month by Mikey Whipwreck, because five out of the six participants are his students. Or former students. Who knows. Man, I like Brian XL even less than I like Amazing Red, and that's saying something. When you watch him wrestle, you can see on his face how hard he has to think to remember what to do. Case in point: Chris Divine comes off the ropes at XL with a go-behind, and gets him in a waistlock. As one tends to do, XL counters with some elbows to the head. The thing that gets me is that it's blatantly obvious that he's thinking "Okay, waistlock, one elbow, two elbow, now switch!" and off he goes with his counter. I don't know whether it's that they've wrestled each other so many times, or they just suck, but everything these guys do (especially Brian XL) looks like "okay now I go here and you go here and we do this." They don't grapple with each other so much as dance. As another example, Divine throws XL up in a release german suplex, which XL counters by landing on his feet. Divine, meanwhile, is just standing there, staring at the crowd, or the wall, or whatever, just standing there, waiting for XL to spin him around. Jeez Meanwhile, at least half the crowd eats it up, starting a "lucha libre" chant. So what do I know? And just so you don't think I'm picking on Divine and XL, here's another example: Quiet Storm charges Joel Maximo in the corner, and Maximo moves out of the way and kicks Storm as he goes by. Nevermind why Storm kept running straight, even though Maximo was moving, Storm leaps into the air, trying to land standing on the second rope. One of his feet slips, and he has to catch himself with his hands and sort of climb back to sure footing. So what does Joel Maximo do? Stands there and waiting for him to climb up, waiting for him to jump back off again so Quiet Storm can armdrag him. Or how about later in the match, when Jose Maximo does the same "jump onto the second rope in the corner" thing? He manages to land on both feet, but his opponent at the moment, Amazing Red, doesn't just stand there. No, he does Joel Maximo one better and actually ducks and starts to position his head between Jose's thighs, BEFORE JOSE EVEN TRIES TO JUMP OFF AND HEADSCISSOR HIM. I swear, it's like someone slipped these six a pamphlet on how to piss me off. I've said enough here. The match ends when Red and XL start fighting, and one of the Maximos rolls Red up.

Grade: D
A Night of Appreciation

NOA is named such because Eddie Guererro (who wrestled on the first show, and probably got a bunch of the people to come) is wrestling in ROH again, before he goes back to the (then) WWF for good. Ring of Honor at this point is in what people call "Indy Dream Match" stage. That means they take good workers, stick them in the ring, and let them go at it, usually with little or no reason. And this works, and it works well. Eventually the forumla will get stale, and they'll change it, but for now, AJ Styles vs. Low-Ki keeps everyone very very happy.

Road to the Title

RTTL is a four-block tournament held to dertermine which four men will participate in a four corner ironman match for the ROH title. It's a great tournament, featuring different styles of action with participants from all over the world. This time I hate on Jody Fleisch and Johnny Storm in addition to my usual hating on Amazing Red and crew.
Quote:
Jody Fleisch vs. Spanky

Jody Fleisch is as fast as Spanky, but he's nowhere near as talented. This match also features a perfect example of what's wrong with Jody Fleisch as a wrestler. He has this move that he does, it's a springboard Asai Moonsault to the outside. He stands in the ring, facing out. He jumps up and spins 180 degrees, so that he's springing off the top rope, facing inside the ring. A simple Asai Moonsault later, he's on the ground. And I'll give him his propers; it's a neat move. But the problem isn't from the move; it's from when Jody lands it, smacking his ankle into the guardrail so hard that he dents it. Approximately 40 seconds immediately after denting the guardrail with his ankle, Fleisch has already rolled Spanky into the ring and is going for a Shooting Star press. Not only does he not pull a "my ankle hurts, will I be able to pull off this shooting star press", Spanky rolls out of the way so Jody lands on his feet AND DOESN'T SELL A THING. Now, I'm going to spoil this match a little early and tell you that Spanky wins it. So if you're Jody, and you're already going to lose the match, why not make that unfortunate accident with the guardrail part of the story? It makes you look better, because your fans can say "Oh, Jody wouldn't have lost if he hadn't hit that guardrail." It can get Spanky some heel heat if he decides to beat on your 'already injured ankle'. Or, it can just come into play in the match. But of all those options, why would you choose to act like it never happened. I'm sure his ankle hurts; it would be impossible to dent the guard rail and not hurt. But Jody wants to be superman, running and flipping around like nothing ever happened. Why? Because he's a complete fucking idiot.
Also, speaking of Amazing Red, this tournament has a match with him and Low-Ki, and it's a perfect example of what makes Amazing Red this much better than the rest of his compatriots: Red can be carried. Red vs. Ki is a good match, because Ki is good enough to control the pacing and work a decent match, and Red can keep up. Anyway, this show features a lot of good matchups with Christopher Daniels, Doug Williams, American Dragon, and Low-Ki and Spanky, plus decent stuff from Jay Briscoe, Xavier, and occasionally Amazing Red.

Crowning a Champion

CAC is main-evented by a four corner ironman match for the title, which is a great match with an incredible final 20 minutes. The four men involved just go non-stop for the first 40 minutes, then manage to bring it up a bit more for the last 20. It's insane. And Spanky gets german suplexed into a Dragon Clutch, which is a really cool spot.

So that's the first 5 shows. More shows will certainly follow later, as I have about 27 and put out a new one every week or so.

Honor Invades Boston

HIB is the first show ROH did outside of Philly. Since Mark Briscoe was under 18 at the time, that meant it was the first show he could wrestle on. So the tension that had been brewing between him and his brother Jay came to a head, and they had a match they've had a million times before between with each other. Of course, odds are you've never seen said match, so you'll think it's just swell. It also includes a very good Low-Ki vs AJ Styles match, a good OOOH THAT MICHAEL SHANE~! moment, and this:
Quote:
Quiet Storm vs. Amazing Red

Remember my earlier theory about how the quality of an Amazing Red match is directly proportional to the quality of his opponent? Yeah, well now he's fighting Quiet Storm.

Match Grade: D+

Unscripted

You've all already seen one match from Unscripted, the insane street fight between Paul London and Michael Shane. The show also has a good tournament for the new ROH Tag Team titles. Also, Mike Modest hits Quiet Storm with 7 brutal forearms. No matter how many times I watch this match, they always catch me by surprise by just how fast and hard they are. Even American Dragon gets this look on his face like "Damn."

Glory By Honor

This is the first show with a match that I gave an A+ to. It's Low-Ki vs. Samoa Joe, in a Fight Without Honor. It's an incredible fight. The two men just beat the crap out of each other. It's great. Other highlights include Ikuto Hidaka showing Amzing Red how it's done, and Red breaking Hidaka's face.

All-Star Extravaganza

CM Punk debuts at this show by losing in the first round of a gauntlet match. I think gauntlet matches are stupid, but this one is saved by Paul London and American Dragon. Dragon, since he won the gauntlet match, faces AJ Styles in a match for the #1 Contenders Trophy, and that's a damn good match. The show is named All-Star Extravaganza because two stars from Pro Wrestling Zero-One are there. Shinjiro Ohtani shows the American crowd just what bootscrapes are all about.

Scramble Madness

There are two very good matches on this show, Samoa Joe vs. Homicide, and AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels. (This was before most people had seen Styles and Daniels go at it a billion times. Not that those two are boring now, I'm just saying.) There is a scramble match on the show, but it's not the main event, so I'm not sure why the show is named that. Whatever. The main event is a good 30 minute Ironman Match between American Dragon and Doug Williams.

Next 5:
Night of the Butcher

If you were a fan of Abby, this is an exercise in nostalgia. If you weren't, you'll find the main event hard to sit through. It's a lot of punches and forking. The show also features a good match between American Dragon and Paul London, which will serve as a precurser to their amazing match at Epic Encounter. Also, Amazing Red hits Joel Maximo with an F-5. This was great news for me, because I love to hate Amazing Red when he acts like a fucking moron.

Final Battle '02

The Prophecy, who won the tag titles at Unscripted, defend them in a 2/3 falls match against the SAT. The SAT run out of breath at about a fall and a quarter, and look like shit. Jody Fleisch takes on Amazing Red in a 'dream match', which sucks. And Paul London wrestles Xavier for the ROH title in one of the better Xavier matches, ever. And there's a damn good four corner survival match between Steve Corino, Samao Joe, Low-Ki, and American Dragon.

Revenge on The Prophecy

This was the show where I first noticed that if you look at him from a certain angle, he looks like a girl. The show also features a great match between Samoa Joe and American Dragon, and a good no holds barred match between The Prophecy and AJ Styles and Low-Ki.

One Year Anniversary

The Carnage Crew continue their streak of hitting people with hubcaps. The show features the third and final match between Mark and Jay Briscoe, and it's similar to the others they've had. Mark Yakuza kicks Jay so hard it gets a "Holy Shit" chant. It also features the first singles match between Steve Corino and Homicide, and a riot breaks out. There's a rematch between Dragon and Joe, and a threeway between AJ Styles, Low-Ki, and Paul London for a shot at the ROH title. London wins, and Xavier makes him take the shot immediatly. London does so, and puts on an admirable effort considering he's just wrestled a Breakfast Serious match with Styles and Ki. The main event on this show is a 35 minute scramble match. Scramble matches have their place, and that place is just about ten minutes long. This this is a "human car wreck." That's not my quote, that's the commentators. It's just a giant mess, and is routinely mentioned in any "Worst ROH match ever" conversation.

Expect the Unexpected

Amazing Red takes on Slim J, and he busts out his F-5 again. What's mroe, Slim J kicks out.
Quote:

Dunn & Marcos vs. Quiet Storm & Ghost Shadow

This match is only about 4 minutes long, which is a great length for anything invovling Quiet Storm, but far too long for anything involving Ghost Shadow.
One of the more notable things from this show is that it has the first Punk/Raven match. There were promos on previous shows, but this is the first meeting between the two. Oh, and AJ Styles and Amazing Red win the ROH tag team titles.

Night of the Champions

NOTC has a good match between Christopher Daniels and Doug Williams for the FWA title and the ROH #1 Contenders Trophy. It also features Samoa Joe vs. Xavier for the ROH World Championship, and I think you all know what happens there. It's a good match, and seeing Xavier finally get killed is fucking great.

The Epic Encounter

Paul London and American Dragon have 2/3 Falls match, and it's one of my favorite matches, ever. Few people sell as well as London, and London sells Dragon's offense even better than he sells everyone else's offense. There's also an 11 minute match between the Briscoes and AJ & Amazing Red, and that seems to be a really good length for them, because they pack it full of action, and remain smart about referencing past matches the two teams have had. Oh, and Dusty Rhodes is on the show.

Retribution: Round Robin Challenge II

This isn't nearly as good as the original RRC, but that one would be hard to live up to. Also, anything involving Amazing Red isn't going to be as good as anything not involving him. Still, the London/Daniels match is pretty good. CM Punk and Homicide have a good match for the #1 Contenders Trophy, and Samoa Joe makes his first defense in a good match against Doug Williams.

Do or Die

Do or Die was an attempt to freshen up the card by bringing in new wrestlers for tryouts. Iceberg, David Young, and Frankie Kazarian are some of the people who show up, and none of them come back ever again. There's some great mic work from CM Punk and Colt Cabana, with Cabana playing the part of 'abused lackey' perfectly. Jody Fleisch and Slim J have a match against the Backseat Boyz where they (Fleisch and Slim J), and I get pretty pissy about it.
Quote:
This whole match is standard sloppy action leading up to one spot: The two teams brawl into the crowd, where Special K grabs the scaffold used to set up the lights. The scaffold is a legit 17 feet high. Fleisch and Slim J climb it while members of Special K hold the Backseats in place, and then, they both moonsault off the top. It's pretty fucking crazy. Slim J arcs quite nicely, but Fleisch ends up going all the way over and lands pretty much on his feet. Slugger carrys Kashmere back to the ring, where Slim J makes the cover. It takes the ref about 7 seconds to get to the ring and start to count, and so Kashmere kicks out at 2. I fucking hate these kids. I don't care if it takes the referee two weeks to get to the ring; you just got hit with a moonsault from 17, 18 feet in the air. That's the fucking finish to the fucking match. Fleisch tries to get to the top rope to finish off Kashmere, but his leg is decimated, so he can't. Slim J climbs up, but he's not in the best of shape either. So the Backseat Boys take advantage of that, hitting Slim J with a t-gimmick off the top rope for the win. And when they do it, they're running around like they didn't just get hit from almost 2 storys up. I fucking hate them all.

Match Grade: F

F is for "Fuck these clowns."
Just reading about it makes me angry. Joe defends his title in the Main Event against Homicide, and they pack a lot of brutality into a 15/20 minute match.

Night of the Grudges

There's a great brawl between the Second City Saints and Raven & BJ Whitmer, and Paul London continues his habit of having excellent matches with a #1 Contenders Trophy match against AJ Styles, which ends in a double pin. (London will be awarded the title because he's higher in the Top 5 rankings. London was slated to win originally, but then AJ won the NWA Title, and out of respect for TNA they didn't have him lose to London.)
Quote:
After the match the crowd chants "Five more minutes", showing themselves to be unaware of the basic logistics of a double pin. (It's not their fault, when you go to an indie show, you're legally obligated to chant "Five more minutes" at any draw. If someone even suggests that you might see a draw, you chant at them. It's in the rules.)
