Yet another end-of-the-year list.

5. JULY - Coldplay, Deer Creek Amphitheater, Indianapolis, IN
4. MAY - Flogging Molly, Jillian's, Louisville, KY
3. JUNE - Modest Mouse, Spectrum Center, Louisville, KY
2. MARCH - Flogging Molly, House of Blues, Cleveland, OH
1. DECEMBER Iron & Wine/Calexico, Headliners, Louisville, KY

BEST VENUE
The House of Blues in Cleveland. It was downtown, right next to a lot of stuff, and right across the street from my hotel.

WORST VENUE
The Spectrum Center in Louisville. It's a slightly renovated high school basketball arena. Very slightly. The basketball goals are still retracted and suspended from the rafters. Isaac Brock spent most of the night making fun of it.

So let's hear some other best/worst.

6. Old guys playing bluegrass music along the Ohio River.

5. Ayin in Hopkinsville, KY.
4. MewithoutYou in Nashville, TN.
3. Ted Leo & the Pharmacists in Louisville, KY.
2. Modest Mouse in Nashville, TN.
1. Devendra Banhart in Nashville, TN.

The best venue I went to was probably the Exit/In in Nashville. Small, but big enough.

Worst was the place I saw Modest Mouse. It was just some basketball arena and I was way the fuck up. Blazes!

Best song I saw played live is either At the Hop or Little Bloys by D. Ban. Mmmm.

5.) Ahmad Jamal at Yoshi's. God I love Yoshi's

4.) Rolling Stones at SBC Park. Meh, I'd built them up too much in my mind, still pretty good though.

3.) White Stripes at U.C. Berkeley. Great show, nice, small, personal venue.

2.) Flogging Molly at Stockton. Just excellent. I'd never listened to Flogging Molly before, but I sure as hell did after that.

1.) Weezer and the Foo Fighters at the Oakland Arena. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Weezer was great, but the Foo Fighters blew even them away.

Worst venue = SBC Park, it distorts the sound like no other, sounds like shit.

Best venue = Yoshi's. If any of you ever come to the Left Coast, I'd strongly recommend going there. Just the...coolest place you can see Jazz.

Best Song = Everlong by the Foo Fighters. Started out slow and acoustic, then just blew everyone away at the end.
