Best Elvis song ever: "Kentucky Rain". "Suspicious Minds" comes in second.

Are you talking about "Fools Rush In"? Because if so, the first third of my student film was set to that. Great song. If anyone is interested in seeing said film, tell me how to upload it somewheres and I'll oblige.

I get shitloads of wedding songs at my dance studio. "Teach me to dance like J.Lo for our wedding Thomas Haden Church!"

Anyway, the biggest wedding song this year was "Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones. It always made me happy when people brought that in to my dance studio because it's so easy to actually dance to.

Please don't play Etta James "At Last." I hate that one.

"God Only Knows" is also an amazing one.

For some reason I always thought "Fools rush in" was a different song than said one I like. I think Mathew Perry has something to do with it, because he once made a movie called Fools Rush In.

Please Bill, find out how to get your movie on the net. Maybe IFilm. Great use of Fools Rush In. Plus I'm in it.

As for the film version of Fools Rush In, pretty much my marriage exactly. Except without the hotdog-happy ending.

My vote for best wedding song is Joe Satriani, "Always With Me, Always With You." If/when i get married again, Bill is obligated to play air guitar to this song.

I used to work the front desk at a hotel (affiliated with a casino) with a big ballroom that people rented out for weddings. There was this one reception I'll never forget:

The DJ came up to the desk to buy a pack of cigarettes (we sold them at the desk for a short time). At the same time, the groom came up to check into the suite he and his new wife were staying in. The groom looks at the DJ and says:

"It's like this: No Destiny's Child, no Celine Dion. Play anything from either and you're not getting paid."

At that particular reception they introduced the wedding party to "Crazy Train." COOLEST RECEPTION EVER

For the record, Ben and I danced our first dance to "Thank You for Loving Me" by Bon Jovi, which was the most romantic song I'd ever heard at that point. That distinction now belongs to Ben Folds' "The Luckiest."

Thanks a lot for your suggestions. The wedding went perfectly. I got a $50 tip. I'm a very happy DJ.

Also, I'd like to point out that I played "Paradise" just because Mike said it was a bad song. I was giggling to myself over this lovely inside joke.

My boyfriend and I were just discussing what song they'll have to play at our wedding to get me to dance and I said it had to be Bryan Adams. So it comes down to the Robin Hood song or "Please Forgive Me" which is better for weddings but makes reference to "making love" which could make the old folks at a wedding uncomfortable since old people have never had sex.
In any case Bryan Adams is my suggestion or Richard Marx's "Now And Forever" omgush~.

edit: shoot I guess I missed the time-limit for this suggestion thing. Damnit!

What about "Heaven"? That's a damn fine Bryan Adams song, not too cheesy, not too overplayed, and it doesn't have any references to, you know, doing it.

My wedding soundtrack is going to be Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips. The entire album. In order.

It's going to be the best wedding ever.

Our DJ cancelled on us three days before the wedding (and yes, we got our money back). So, thinking fast, we spent the Thursday before our wedding burning CDs and procuring a multiple-disc changer.

So our guests were treated to a combination of: Billy Joel, Weird Al, music from the Final Fantasy games, the aforementioned Bon Jovi song, and... Nine Inch Nails (among other things I don't currently recall). That was Ben's idea. So I had relatives coming up to me on the happiest day of my life and saying, "What's that crap?!"

Just the way I'd imagined since I was a little girl.
