This is the first entry in what I hope will become my new permanent record. Though I am well into adult hood, I've never regularly kept a journal. Since this binder was given to me as a gift by my Aunt Vera, I thought it might be interesting to challenge my resolve, and keep track of my exploits for the sake of the proverbial grandchildren. So, for the sake of archiving it, my name is Inman Joseph Carruthers. I am 35 years old, and an adjunct professor of anthropology and sociology at Pennsylvania State University. I wrote my dissertation on the leisure activities of several west African pygmy tribes, and have to date published three scholarly works in various journals that I need not mention by name, for fear of making my own diary into a narcissistic blab fest. I suppose that's all for now, I shall continue to update as I see fit.
