Can't Sleep; Charity — A Sleepless Gossip Girl Marathon For A Cause

I'm going to watch all of Gossip Girl without stopping.

Starting Monday, August 24th, I am going to watch all of Gossip Girl, the teen drama that ran from 2007 to 2012. I am going to attempt to do this without sleeping. I am going to do this for charity.

My name is Pete. You may remember me from the last time I did this, or from Flapjackalypse, the time I ate pancakes for charity. You may know me from Scientific Podcast Goes Boink. You may not know me at all, but I'm glad you're here. You can keep up with all the latest updates about the upcoming event by following me on Twitter (@sorryeveryone) or here at Progressive Boink.

Here are some answers to some questions you might have:

Have you seen Gossip Girl?
No I have not! I hope it is good. Here is what I know about the show (1) It is set in New York City. I used to live there! (2) One of the characters is named Chuck Bass. That's a funny name! (3) The show features Taylor Momsen. I will not hear a cross word against Ms. Momsen.

Why are you doing this?
Because the last time went really well and it was a lot of fun. Signalling. I have an irrational fondness for Taylor Momsen.

Which charity?
Whichever one you want! I'm hoping people will donate to whatever charity they favor, then forward their donation receipt to me (scientificpod @ gmail) so I can keep a cumulative total and arrange for rewards. The last time I did this 192 people donated! I would like to beat that mark. If you really can't decide I will have a few suggestions when the actual event rolls around.

Rewards?
Yes! More on this later, but everyone who donates and provides an address will get a postcard featuring custom Gossip Girl-themed artwork and Gossip Girl themed haikus. The Dawson's Creek postcards looked like this.

Do you really think you can do it without sleeping?
No I do not. The longest stretch I managed last time was 41 hours. I intend to beat that mark, but we will see.

Any other questions you have can be posted here in the comments or directed to me via Twitter. I thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope when the event rolls around I can count on your support.
