Kristen and I went to the Dodger game last night and I'd post pictures but I need my other computer for that, so I'll just talk about it.

The Dodgers were losing 3-1 for the most part of the game. Brad Penny pitched well even though those three runs were from him in 6 innings. They were losing 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth and Wilson Valdez stole second base on a dropped ball, almost didn't make it until it was overthrown, causing him to take third, and then stole home on a past ball, tying up the game.

Then in the bottom of the tenth, bases were loaded for Russell Martin with one out and the Pirates made a double switch and put in some new kid that I don't have some fangirl crush on named Don Kelly. They played 3 infielders on the left side and two outfielders, since just about any fly ball at that point would end the game. I really wanted to see Martin place the ball in RF where no one was, but he decided to hit a grand slam instead and the Dodgers won 7-3.

I heard that on the radio driving home today.

I'm not even a Red Sox fan and I had to pull over because I was so pumped I couldn't focus on driving down an empty residential street (cops like to camp out there). Caught the replay on ESPN once I got in and Theo Epstein was all OH MY GOD HOLY SHIT. It has been some season so far.

Oh and Jeff Weaver lost today in Anaheim.

Actually Kristen, if you'll check the standings following tonight's successful sweep of the Dodgers, you will see that the Giants are tied for first in the West and have a better win percentage than the Dodgers.
