You don't like the Wii. Some of us do. Learn to deal with it. Stop having fly digs at it everytime you post. It's boring and makes you look like a stupid cock. I don't like baseball but I don't go in to the sports forum and shit up all the baseball threads with posts about how football is better. |

Here's a good example: I have GTA SA for both the PS2 and Xbox. The Xbox version is cleaner, has a better framerate and draw distance, all that shit. But doing drive-bys and flying planes is way to much of a pain in the ass with the Xbox controller. The weaker console wins in favor of gameplay.
Besides, with all of the gorgeous games all of the "next-gens" have brought me, I've probably played Alpha Centauri on my PC or Sim City on the SNES for longer than any of them. Gameplay ALWAYS wins. If that wasn't true, we'd still be talking about how great that Chronicles of Riddick game was. _________________ I am facing the pet store / is it robbed / no |

I actually liked the gameplay in that one
I've never said that graphics was everything. I sat for over an hour playing Dragon Quest Slime whatever on my DS, and was prefectly fine with the graphics. I just think the whole "Graphics don't matter" thing has its limits. I'll get a Wii eventually when the Zelda itch gets to be too strong to ignore.
i mean, look at the previous generation. I had a PS2 and Dreamcast to begin with. Sold the Dreamcast, kept the PS2 (wish I hadn't, but they're cheap enough ti find these days.) Bought an Xbox, bought a Gamecube. Beat Halo, beat Oddworld, beat Zelda and Mario Sunshine. Sold 'em both, kept the PS2, the graphically inferior system. So it's not like I've been completely forcused on graphics. With Wii it's just that the gap is so much wider than PS2 vs Xbox vs GC.
It's like comparing an NES to a Genesis or SNES.
And I'll shut up about it now, since Terry is so offended by it.

That would actually be awesome. _________________

Since the Wii is the closest console to bringing me a Bionic Commando re-make with full grappling hook action, that thing could piss on my rug two minutes out of the box and I'd still cuddle it. _________________ I am facing the pet store / is it robbed / no |

Well naturally, shitty graphics or no, a Bionic Commando game where you could actually swing your arm grappler in 3D would be phenomenal.
Know what else would rule? A Wii Sports Tennis Style Super Dodge Ball.
That's what I think the Wii would be ideal for, is going back to the classic franchises. But instead 3rd parties are dumping crapped down ports like Wii Call of Duty and Wii Far Cry (which looks and plays like utter shit.)
Gimme a Wii Castlevania where I can swing the whip, or Bionic Commando, hell, why not a Wii Gauntlet where you can hack and slash through monsters? Talk about working up a sweat.
I'd like to see someone play Street Fighter II with a Wii. ;P |

You're finally speaking my language, 7th. I would gladly kill some fools in Wii Super Dodgeball. _________________

No shit, man. I wouldn't care if they were stick figures if I could play THAT in 3D. Can you imagine jumping up and doing a power spike with a wiimote and knocking some online goon off the screen?
That alone would be worth the investment. THAT, more than anything else, would get me to the register with a Wii in hand. |

Yeah, I think it was Reggie Fils-Ame who said that right now the Wii is in the same place that the DS was in before Nintendogs came out, where it doesn't really have a game that NEEDS the motion controls, rather than just using them as a substitute for a regular controller.
and since the wii doesn't even look that much better than the previous generation of hardware, right now its software library consists of gamecube-quality ports with stupid controls ohh fuck i understand what 7th is saying now.
Hey, did anyone play the PS2 version of the latest Smackdown vs. Raw? I've been jonesing for some WWE video game action and I want to know if it sucks or not.
also I hope the next MLB game is good. |

Just finished Final Fantasy XII. I appreciate that for my 88 hours of game time, they gave me a 5 minute ending. Now thats what I call satisfaction!
Think I'm gonna dust off the Gamecube, fire it up and pick up where I left off in Legend Of Zelda: Windwaker. _________________

I've been playing the training a lot lately. I have platinum medals in Swing control and Home runs, but I've only been able to hit 29/30 in batting practice.
Also got a gold in bowling for power throws: 630. _________________

I was out shopping over the weekend. Most retail specialty stores like Circuit City, Best Buy, etc were sold out of Ps3, Wii, and DS. Same with Toys R Us. But I went to three different Wal-Marts (we were looking for some cheap bookshelves) and every one of them had a stack of all three. I had my tax return in hand, and came close to picking a Wii up just so I could "go bowling" with my four year old.
But I held off, because I know that thing's gonna drop in price in another year or two, and by then all the games I currently would want for it (ie Zelda and the yet to be released Mario title) will be far cheaper on the used games market.
Played Sonic The Hedgehog for PS3. Here's another title where I don't understand the critical lambasting it's getting. All the glitches these reviewers have mentioned simply aren't there (I'm supposing they were playing pre-production versions of this title) and it plays exactly like Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast. It's fast, and it's fun. Yes, occasionally you have to slow down to do some platforming stuff, but the original Sonic was the same way.
I'm about halfway through Untold Legends, a third through Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, and I just started both Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters and Gerumin.
Gerumin's a lot of fun. Call me a blasphemer, but I never really liked the 3D Zelda titles quite as much as the older ones because of the change in gameplay, which at the time I took as being neccessary to switch to 3D. Gerumin has me convinced that they could have stayed truer to the original feel. Take A Link to the Past, make it in 3D, replace Link with a redheaded little girl with a "drillspear" instead of a sword, and let simmer. You have to fight through mazelike dungeons full of monsters, puzzles, hidden doorways you have to blast your way through, NPC's to talk to, the whole deal. I don't like the music or the story as much as the Zelda series (though the original Zeldas were pretty light on story anyway) but overall this is the Zelda title I've been wanting to play but no one was willing to make it. Probably my favorite PSP title right now. |

All this talk of Sonic and the Secret Rings has made me spend all week playing Sonic Rush again. Now there is a damned good game. Awesome soundtrack, too.
