Is anyone else watching this pile of crap?

- Britney opens the show and is completely boring. She seemed hungover. If you aren't going to actually sing live, then you should at least be able to back it up with entertaining choreography. This had neither.

- The whole show is way overproduced. They've also changed up the "awards" to bullshit categories like "best quadruple threat". an award for having a fashion line at the video music awardz

- The performances all sound bad, because they're all filmed in small venues. This is not fun to watch unless you are in the actual venue.

- I forgot to mention, Sarah Silverman has been the only good part of the show thus far. "I was talking to Cee-lo backstage. I asked him if he's encountered any racism in Atlanta. He said 'I'm Kanye West.'"

- Justin Timberlake is probably going to have an "accident" in the near future. He called out MTV for not playing music videos, and asked them to stop playing lame Simpson reality shows. Ouch.

- They're censoring out lyrics like "bend you over," "til you get sore," and "make you wanna taste it." On the other hand, "Goddamn" got through.

- Shia Lebeouf announced the next Indie movie is Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The crowd was pretty apathetic.

You forgot to mention that half the performances aren't even on stage, but in the special "party rooms" that MTV gave to certain performers.

The only worthwhile part of this so far has been marveling at all the new reality shows that MTV has in the pipe. Tila Tequila, for chrissake.

Does this show suck because I'm getting older, or is it strictly terrible on its own merits? I'm leaning towards the latter.

I feel like it has to be the latter. I mean all signs point to MTV sucking more as a whole, not just because we're older.

I have to say though, the Foo Fighters and System of a Down guy covering "Holiday in Cambodia" went a long way towards redeeming the show for me.
