So I ended up gettin the 360. Love the graphics, the wireless controllers are a nice new addition for me, the system does run pretty loud though - well, louder than I'm used to. Picked up 2 games this weekend, as Forza Motosport 2 came with it. Again, graphics are great - but all these controls take some getting used to.

Is it just me, or does Xbox rely far to much on the 'triggers' in all their games and focus less on buttons? I got splinter cell and it's just hard as hell to control movement, etc. Also, trying to check in NHL 08 is fucking odd too. So, while I'm impressed with the system - the control for games is not so much...at least, not those two.

By triggers do you mean the shoulder buttons or like conditional events? If it's the latter I don't think Xbox does this any more than Playstation or PC games do.

I think he means the left and right trigger and the left and right bumper. I haven't play much besides shooters on the 360, but I think it makes sense for those to be trigger-oriented. Similarly, with racing games triggers make sense because they're analog, which make accelerating and braking a lot easier. As for sports games, I don't really know what works best but I don't really play them, so who knows.

Maybe he means the little joysticks? And it's just as well because the 360's d-pad is a piece of crap

Alex you douchebag analog sticks are not synonymous with "trigger" in any way

Maybe he means the tiny horses ridden by tiny Roy Rogerses

I meant the left and right triggers that are located just below the left and right bumpers on the controllers themselves.

Also, thank-god, there is a "classic mode" controller configuration in NHL 08. This has brought me much happiness.
