Now Playing 2: The Sequel

It's essentially an homage/ripoff of Legend of Zelda, which is still better than most of the actual Zelda games that have been released in the past 10 years.

While that is fundamentally untrue, it's basically a shot-for-shot remake of Link to the Past with a different graphical style and funny meta-jokes.

It's a good game as a novelty, fun and humorous, but definitely not near the level of quality and depth seen in recent Zelda games, and anyone who says otherwise should be disallowed from ever turning on a video game console again.

Perhaps I am being hyperbolic, but it is definitely a game that you will enjoy if you also enjoyed the old 2D Zeldas.

I haven't really cared for Zelda games in this century.

Step 1. Play Wind Waker
Step 2. Repeat until you enjoy Wind Waker

Wind Waker is really good for the most part, the sailing can be tedious if you aren't in the mood for changing the direction of the wind constantly, but I thought it was a step in the right direction.

And then Twilight Princess happened. Then the DS games happened. Then I stopped giving a shit.

It would've been had it come out 4 years earlier as planned on the Gamecube. Instead, we got a dated ass Gamecube game where I had to fish with a Wiimote. Wind Waker is the shit. Twilight Princess is blurry as shit.

I loved TP. Fun, big, and full of secrets. Thats all I ask of Zelda.

This whole entire album is dreadful. It made me lock myself in the closet and almost puke. If I ever hear any of these songs ever again I will drive a stake through the singer's heart and dance the "Tango" on his skull.

I played TP on Gamecube without all of the Wiimote bullshit. It's a phenomenal game.

Maybe Im one of the only few that enjoyed the DS games, but I thought Phantom Hourglass was a lot of fun.

I didn't care for the traveling mechanic of watching your boat/train move on a pre-set path while you occasionally tap on monsters.

Also, I never enjoy having to use the stylus to move.

But don't let my displeasure diminish your enjoyment!

I've been playing the Tales of Monkey Island series that came out of nowhere for PS3. And I've liked them quite a bit! Individually the games aren't amazing, but taken as one five-part game for $20 it's really good.

Also aren't we due for another episode of Sam and Max this week or next? I still need to play the third one.

Why am I just now being told about this? Also, is it awesome?

I know, right? It came out of nowhere. It's pretty great, if you liked the previous games in the series the writing and voice acting are really good, and the puzzles are interesting without being too maddeningly hard.

The third season of Sam and Max is incredible. And there's a new episode out today! Hooray!

Really, it blows my mind that in 2010 I'm playing new Monkey Island and Sam & Max games. I thought for sure that when LucasArts canceled Freelance Police that that was all she wrote on the genre.

And here we are. New Sam & Max, new Monkey Island, special editions of the first two games in the series, and life is pretty sweet.

my life will be complete the day they re-release old sierra adventure games the way they're re-releasing lucasarts ones. Playing QFG on 360 with achievements would make my little-kid-heart explode

What happened to Sierra is the saddest thing in video games next to the lack of Shenmue 3.
