Actually, I think the whole point of miz/lawler at EC is so miz can have at least one clean defense under his belt. Cole can still be hyper annoying after the match, which will hopefully lead to a Vince-style 20-minute hardcore beating in which Cole is stripped of his clothes, given 40 literal lashes, and then choked with a tie. Also if his skull is cracked in half, that would be nice. Jerry deserves a better wrestlemania legacy than this, but hopefully they'll lift the PG restrictions long enough to let us watch Michael Cole bleed to death.

Right but the point is that Cole is an insufferable cunt with no fear of recourse so he can say and do whatever he wants to Lawler and not have to deal with any consequence. If Lawler loses his match clean and is somehow like "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, MICHAEL" there's no reason for them to fight. Cole needs to physically interject himself and they need to make a point of having Lawler be helpless in doing anything about it so that when the stipulation is lifted (via no physicality until Wrestlemania) Cole can still be a shortsighted, antagonistic dick up to the very moment when he realizes "oh God I'm actually in the ring and this man wants to mash my face in."

Again, were it involving anyone other than Cole and not happening at the expense of a title reign I'd call it a great slow build to a blowoff. But that's not the reality of the situation so I'll just have to watch RAW in sections for the next few weeks because I can't deal with two straight hours of Cole screaming about stuff.
