On the subject of TCK, the thing that always bothered me about TCK promos together is that they seemed to be a series of jokes without advancing any feuds. They rarely mentioned their opponents in those promos and would instead build for their matches on an individual basis. This bothered me some but now it all seems like it was building to this feud.

Oh ye of little faith.

I don't making a sloppy, accident prone wrestler your inaugural champion in any division is a good idea regardless of how beautiful or loyal they are. If you want a title to have legitimacy then put it on a legitimate wrestler.

I could also see them putting it on Pru (who's been working heavily worked-shoot matches lately anyhow) as a thank you gesture and using her losing to one of the more serious competitors as a "passing of the torch" to the new generation of Prima Donna competitors, who then imbue it with said legitimacy with awesome matches. Just having Ruth beat one of the worst wrestlers for a title doesn't really say much. Someone righting the wrong of an improper champion has more OOMPH, I think.

Or, you know, The Cool Kids are backstage manipulators and are using Absalom Melman's John Hughes/Molly Ringwald crush on Pru for their own nefarious purposes. Take your pick.

I've been thinking about the XX Division since I woke up (and before), and felt I should make a last-minute appeal before polls close in like seven seconds.

In my mind, a vote for Pru is basically a vote saying that our women's wrestling is a joke. That you were disappointed in the Ruth/Star and Ruth/Penny matches. That you would rather see legit wrestlers jobbed out to Pru.

Making Pru your very first XX Division Champion is like making David Arquette your first World Heavyweight Champion.

anywho i wholeheartedly disagree probably because im a storyline guy over a workrate guy and also because the conclusion of a pru as champion angle would obviously usher in a real female wrestlers division not eternally write it off and have abby say "yeah nvfm, marisol should take the belt off pru at throwing hands 2010 in a pre show 2 minute battle royal"

Is that what you guys like, expect from a Pru victory? Pru being like "I DONT LIKE YOU YOU TOOK MY INTERVIEWER JOB" and then a months long angle built on shit like that with no actual wrestling ability present in the division? Cause uh, that wouldn't happen (well maybe one week could be set for that cause it'd be kinda funny)

But yeah, this isn't Sable beating up Luna Vachon every week. This would be like if Sable became champion and Awesome Kong got fucking pissed about it, and we ended up with a meta angle about Sable being a pathetic typical female wrestler in way over her head.

And I reiterate my main argument: The real XX Division with Ruth beating the fuck out of people and having great matches is happening regardless. Pru as champion can only happen now and it looks like it could be epic. Let's have patience.

I just think if you're shitty at something, you shouldn't be rewarded for it, especially over other people who are much better and work at least as hard. If you're bad at something, you should either work harder and get better, or step aside for someone more competent and instead try something else. Pru has done neither of these things. She's continued to be bad at the technical aspects of wrestling, and her "acting" has become more in-jokey to the point of actively attempting to break kayfabe. Saying this is her "only chance" means you think she'll never improve, which makes me hink even more that she shouldn't be given a medal like this is the special olympics. (Sorry, was that inappropriate?)

And let's say she does win it. Then what do you expect? We know that any other female wrestler on the roster could trounce her. So do we get six weeks of her losing matches and/or having her man Brian Genius cheat for her? And then what's the payoff? "oh she lost the belt to a better wrestler i guess that's cool and not entirely expected".... I'm sure any Champion Pru storyline will be entertaining, because B and Co. have the ability to add excitement and dimension to pretty much anything. I'm just saying that this might not be the most fertile ground.

Also I just really don't see how having a crappy female wrestler as champion ushers in a real female wrestlers division. The title belt should represent the apex of the craft, the person who's best at their job, whether it's because of wrestling ability or incredible cunning or whatever. What does Pru do best that makes you think "this out of all the other women should be our female champion"?

If Pru's workrate was more in line of, say, Esmeralda, I might be more inclined to vote for her, but right now, let the bitch pout.

The votes are varied enough that I really don't know who's going to win any of the matches (except Jin/Stevens, you motherfuckers ), so I'm super pumped for Final Four! See you guys tonight?

I almost voted for Stevens! But I was 50/50 and it seemed like a bit of a lost cause by the time I voted. The other matches are very close, agreed.

I'm excited about the show and I'll be here for as long as I can considering it's 1:00 am when the show starts over here. But I'll try my best!

our first junior champion (well after the aapw alliance when the belt finally came to pga with the stellar puro ace raijin narukami) was the best pound-for-pound wrestler in the company today, the man who looked lester balaam jackson in the eye, unafraid, and took him to a nigh-impossible draw, broughton "brutal" chambers

our first tag champs were those horrifying godless creations, controlled by a sociopathic crazed inventor, the creepily agile bunraku and the terrifyingly massive mario nyet, the puppets

our first women's champ will be pru
