This whole entire album is dreadful. It made me lock myself in the closet and almost puke. If I ever hear any of these songs ever again I will drive a stake through the singer's heart and dance the "Tango" on his skull.

You should really watch this on DVD at some point, it's the best example of a studio fucking up a unique movie to please their test audiences that I've ever seen. It doesn't really matter which other version you watch, at least they were both edited by Gilliam.

Brazil! is the only Criterion Collection DVD that I own. It has three versions (plus a bunch of other crap). If you can get that, you're golden.

I'll try to get my hands on it but I want a little time to pass before watching it again, changes or no.

Watched 500 Days again last night with the lady. Discovered that the whole movie is basically what happens when two people don't have a serious conversation. She says "I'm not looking for anything serious" and he says "we'll take it slow." He doesn't listen to her and gets ruined as a result. He spends about 75% of their relationship enjoying the No Strings arrangement and just having a good time and the other 25% lamenting the No Strings arrangement.

Also the exhausted anger in his voice when he quits his job, really the best acting he's ever done. "I think we do a bad thing here." Yeah, he's projecting his own issues on a job he never wanted, but that doesn't make him wrong.

Nothing about 500 Days is a romance because there's an absence of love through the whole thing. It's just a character study about fuck buddies.

Prior to my recent relationship (where I basically was Summer - realized after 3 months that I didn't see a future with my boyfriend and I couldn't see myself loving him, so I dumped him), this describes everything else I've ever had, and I think that's why I like this movie - because Joe Gordon-Levitt plays the chick in this movie and for once I could relate to a guy in a movie about dating. The irony (I guess you would call it) is that my ex picked up 500 Days of Summer at my house, said he wanted to borrow it, watched it while I was gone for a couple weeks on vacation and said the movie was "cute".

Oh hey, I'm in this thread for once.

On Tuesday, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly was on TCM, and I immediately dropped every plan I had (go to the library, go to Pizza Hut afterwards) to sit and watch the movie all the way through. My younger brother even sat down and watched it with me, complaining about how nothing ever happened, and marking out when people started shooting at eachother.

The Trio is better than Ecstacy of Gold. There, I said it.
