terror

Indiana Jones is my favorite trilogy, and the greatest movie hero of all time. I want so badly for this movie to be good, but I'm afraid. I don't want Indy looking like he could fall and break his hip at any moment.

It's been said, but I'm so worried about this. I don't want this to be a step down, but I think it will be.

The best thing going for it is that they were waiting until everything was right. All of the delays were because everyone involved wanted it to be worthy of the name Indiana Jones. So, that gives me hope that this won't be National Treasure.

I'm still cautious, but that was a really fun trailer. The way I look at it, it can't be worse than Temple of Doom.

Consider me pumped.

It looked a lot like it. It was the first thing I thought of.

What was so bad about Temple of Doom? It's the worst of the three, but that still puts it far above a ton of other movies.

At first I was confused by the time line, as they obviously make reference to Indy being older but the cars and such didn't look like the right decade, which I thought should be sometime in the 60's. But Last Crusade was apparently set in '38, a little earlier than I realized, so that would put this film sometime in the late 50's? I mean, I guess they don't necessarily have to say its 18 years later just because its been 18 years since they made a movie, but I'm going to have a pretty big blargh moment if they don't realistically (or relatively so) acknowledge the fact that Harrison Ford qualifies for the senior menu at Denny's these days.

All that hooha out of the way, I'm excited for the movie just because I'm how campy and awesome Cate Blanchett's character looks.

But Indy is now immortal since he drank from the Holy Grail, so if anything he should look as good as he did. So that would explain how it could be set in the 50's if it is, but not why he looks like he was put away wet.

well the crusader who was guarding the holy grail was pretty old even though he had (presumably, seeing as he was 900 years old) drank from it, so it's possible the grail only slows aging without stopping it altogether

I think seeing Harrison be Indy now is much more impressive than being Indy 18 years ago

Seeing Harrison as Indy again is enough to make my heart smile. It makes me a little sad to see how old he looks, but the man is timeless and I love him regardless. I can't freaking wait for this movie.

I really wish this computer had speakers so I could watch the trailer with sound. :(

It could be a fun movie. I'm just going to forget everything I once felt about Indiana Jones and walk in with no expectations. Let's see if that tactic works.

I'll grant you it's not without some charm, the opening in Club Obi-Wan is great and the Thugee stuff was cool. But I largely just found it boring and it didn't feel like an Indiana Jones flick in alot of parts. There was no bit of action that blew me away like in the other two films, it just felt like they rushed it out. Plus, Kate Capshaw was annoying as fuck.

btw, I'm pretty sure Indy isn't immortal. I think the point was that you had to stay within the seal to have the immortality. Though maybe it slowed his aging?

So Cate Blanchett is the dark haired villianess, right? pretty sure I heard a german accent in there too. The promise of nazi bad guys in the film would make me that much more excited for this.

I would be worried about Shia TheBeef as well, although I was really worried about Justin Long in Die Hard and that turned out to be done well enough for me to enjoy a new Die Hard movie. Here's hoping the same thing happens with Indy!

passed-off-as-teen white male reluctantly teams with aging but universally loved hardass and embark on an adventure full of car crashes and fearful yet laffable quips from teen while veteran badass remains unflinchingly collected in this summers biggest movie:

Bloodsport part 2: Calamitous Capers in Baghdad starring Jean Claude Van Damme and Zach Braff

this could work
