Welp, Roderick Strong is ROH champion. He improved his world title record to 1-15. Way to step it up Roddy.

I've only seen one Roderick Strong match but he seemed absolutely generic, from his 100% plain "look" to his myriad of random suplexes so that independent fans can say "See? Moves! FUCK YOU VINCE" In WWE canon Bryan Danielson is boring, but at the same time Dragon knows how, when, where, and why to do what he does. Strong seemed like he could be replaced with anyone...shit, even me, as long as I have basic training of how to do a gutbuster.

oh my god, if rod had won the title on friday and i had gone to the saturday show and not the other way around, internet smarks across the fucking GALAXY would be bitching about how hard i "tried getting myself over" via rod strong heckling. like, i would've gotten to the show and then as soon as i saw "rod strong: world champ" i would've blacked out, only to wake up three days later, covered head to toe in memento tattoos of the hateful, venomous shit i'd been yelling at that man.

I don't think I've bought an ROH DVD since late 2008. Kinda strange to think that the last thing I liked about ROH was Nigel McGuinness's as champion.

DGUSA (ergo Chuck Taylor) are running a show literally 20 minutes from my house. I don't know what's up with indie promotions running the south shore, but I'm gonna ride that wagon train all the way to grapsville.

I'm pretty sure that was the dumbest ROH title match I've ever seen. And I've seen Nigel vs Ruckus.

On the other hand, Cide's return pop afterwards was pretty amazing and I very much look forward to good Homicide matches on a regular basis again, especially if it leads to him finally getting a real title reign.

So I just saw a commercial for the local wrestling promotion, which is holding its "Southern Legends" event in early October. The main event? Abdullah the Butcher vs. Bull Buchanan. On the undercard is somebody named "Bruiser Brody Jr." and an Armstrong family reunion.

i... i think i have to see this

Thats right, we've talked about this before. I always forget that there isn't really anything to do in Bowling Green. I'm hoping they fix Opry at some point, it would be nice to have the IMAX back.
