i'm just having a lot of general trouble with this list, because the arena is so huge. even without comic book characters and shit. the simpsons characters list was pretty extensive and that's one show. not to say every animated show has the same breadth of cast but shiiiit, there are too many characters and most of the ones i vote for won't make it, and the ones that do will just be the populist winners i don't really care about.

i think a better list would be best animated shows.

I think you'd run into the same problems you're already having with that list, though. I mean, sure, your Family Guys and Futuramas would place high, but how many people even REMEMBER Freakazoid?

Well I have returned from being out of town to find a lot of questions regarding the list.

As a matter of fact, considering that this list is for everyone, I want your opinions.

Regarding B's question, a muppet is indeed animated. Which makes it a slippery slope to me. It is animated in the same vein that Hank Hill is anmiated, but when I envisioned the list, I did not consider muppets. Unless there is a pro-muppet uprising and considering B sent me a list without muppets, I would say they won't count.

I know quite a few of you have submitted lists, tomorrow after work I will update my matrix and see where we stand if the list is tenable. If it seems more apparent for everyone to do best animated shows, then we can do that instead. Right now I have 11 lists after one week.

muppet babies, maybe, but muppets are puppets and real and corporeal, animated characters should be things that are drawn and or made on computers, should they not?

Animation, by it's definition, refers to creating movement, whether it be through illusion (like a series of images displayed in a rapid sequence that result in a cartoon) or real movement (like me moving my hand; alternatively, like me moving my hand inside of a puppet, causing the puppet to move).

The popular association of animation refers to cartoons, but TECHNICALLY puppets are animated in the same way humans are animated. But since that covers EVERYTHING ON TELEVISION, it's best that we stick to cartoons and the like.

Muppet Babies are fair game.
