Top five reasons I feel cheated by DnD 4th Edition:

5. No Gnomes in core Players Guide
4. The whole look seems inspired by World of warcraft and while WoW itself isnt a bad thing, WoW and DnD are seperate things in my world and never shall the two intertwine ( this makes me sound like a pen and paper luddite I know, but the last time this was tried in the industry was the everquest pen and paper game, and guess what no one is playing anymore? )
3. Half Elves getting stat boosts bothers me for whatever reason, Half Elves were always either the class you played because you thought resistance and pointy ears were worth a feat drop or for those who wanted to incorporate the "torn twixt two worlds" type of emotion into their character. Giving them bumps seems just odd to me
2. The "everyone Gets special abilities and actions" systems seems nice on the surface, but then you get to a point where everyone saves their big ones waiting for the Big Battle of the session; Then probably complaining if they saved it and didnt get to use it. Once again, a guy has to ask, what was wrong with hacking at goblins with swords?
1. Reduced imagination, IMO. Instead of having top think out and describe what specific manuever you're doing in combat ( be it a complex somatic spell component or a flourishing battleaxe swing ), you now have a list of actions that you can pull off. Reduction of creativity is also seen in purchasable dungeon tiles ( draw out your own dungeons on graph paper like a real man ), and that dipshitty DnD online thing where you get a 3D render of your character's look instead of asking the artistically talented guy in the crew to do it ( or better, doing it yourself )

This whole entire album is dreadful. It made me lock myself in the closet and almost puke. If I ever hear any of these songs ever again I will drive a stake through the singer's heart and dance the "Tango" on his skull.

Completely forgot Mystery Team. Assuming it comes out near enough that I can go see it it is in the top 5 easy.

Top 5 Strengths of 4th Edition (in spite of some of its weaknesses touched on by Ed)

1. In contrast to 3/3.5, Every PC typically remains useful throughout the session, namely the magic users. The special abilities can be really neat, and don't really have to limit creativity if you don't want them to (it is DnD after all).
2. There are some interesting new player classes, and interesting takes on older player classes (Such as the Avenger and the Bard).
3. Dragonborns are pretty sweet.
4. The relative frequency in which books come out, and the consideration that all of them are core, and will contain new races and player classes, which does allow for a lot of new inspiration. (Actually, the gnome wasn't in the PH, but there was a way to play one looking into the back of the MM)
5. It's much easier for DMs to plan out encounters, and minions, when used properly, make for a really fun battle for the PCs.

Top 5 Weaknesses that I'd like to add on

1. Multiclassing seems blah. And along those lines, paragon path choices at this point can be a little limited (which they are fixing as more books come out).
2. The lack of called shots is kind of frustrating.
3. Some of the role playing elements are really taken down, especially things like buff spells ala Bulls Strength or Eagle's Splendor or Owl's Wisdom. Interactions become differently flavored somehow. Skill challenges seem to address this somewhat, but I haven't honestly tried skill challenges yet (though I haven't DM'd or played 4th edition since last summer when it just came out).
4. The alignment system is kinda BS, though at least it does cut down on stupid arguments between stubborn players about whether or not their character is lawful good or chaotic neutral.
5. The friggin $$$. Books are expensive! DnD insider is expensive! I don't know what student honestly feels like they can afford dropping 30-40 bucks on new books a few times a year, especially when the design mentality for fourth edition is that books come out frequently and every book is pretty much core. And if you want DnD insider, it costs you even more. No matter how useful something like DnD insider is, that's a lot of money to be dropping on a continual basis for a pen and paper game.

Top 5 Non-Kurosawa/Bergman Criterions #101-200:

5. Tokyo Olympiad
4. Contempt
3. The Royal Tennenbaums
2. 8 1/2
1. In The Mood For Love

Last Wave does not belong in the bottom 4. I haven't seen Honeymoon Killers or Double Suicide but their reputation is pretty poor. Of the Criterions I've seen from 101-200, Schizopolis definitely belongs there.
