an issue with an association experiment when he was young

the experimenter would play a really loud noise (which frightened young Garfield) and then scream "MONDAYS!". this went on for like a month or two, twenty times a day. now he is scarred for the rest of his life.

not true, he has stated that he enjoys sunday but then expresses fear when he realizes that monday is coming after it

thus he prefers saturdays because that is his latter-day

jon could still go to work on mondays for weekly meetings with his editor, or perhaps his scheduled shopping day is that day

either way there is still the possibility that garfield hates mondays because he misses jon's warm touch
