I really dig the direction they took with Kensei. Considering just how fucking awesome Hiro is, it should make for some great stuff.

It seems kind of obvious how the Hiro storyline is going to go already. Hopefully it's so obvious they know it's obvious and will do something different with it.

Dude posting on another thread I was reading who is probably incredibly correct:

Rewatched it last night and I picked up so many more hints and enjoyed it more. Really this episode is a setup for the whole "The Company" conspiracy they'll play this season.

The opening scene in the plaza with Mr. Nakamura and Ando, it was bearded Nathan that ran into Ando... at the same time did a paper switch to give him the picture of death. Same deal almost exactly before Nathan's own mother gets the picture of death. And when Mr. Nakamura is killed, only one body is on the ground. So turns out Nathan is working for the company, or whoever is calling hits on the final nine. I'd venture to guess that he really is horribly disfigured, and the organization is using some kind of Candice distorting reality power to hide his disfigured face. Hiro is going to realize he must make Kensei into a hero in order to preserve history, so it will be an interesting dynamic with Hiro making this anti-hero guy into a hero. Also weird high school flying crush of Claire's sounds like he's recruiting for the company. I think that will play out into a good Father/Daughter/Boyfriend storyline.

Nathan could have gotten him up in the atmosphere high enough to drop [Peter] and fly away really fast. Not dead, but serious nuke burn victim. I don't think he is Sylar at all. But he's working for the company and *knows* Peter is still alive because he turned him over to the company himself to be Haitianized and exiled. It seems to me that Molly is now the Isaac Mendez stand-in. She's drawing the symbol between the eyes "mark of death" and basically predicting these special's deaths, with the last drawing in the sequence being her own death. Really the more I think about this episode the more I like it.

I thought the episode was pretty confusing, especially the end, but what you just posted does help it make sense. I was hoping we'd get more of Peter and less of Parkman; I don't know if his storyline will ever interest me. And what is up with Claire? It's a good thing she can heal, because she seems to pop more things out of joint than the average person. Like every time she takes more than a baby step, it's all "Whoops, there goes my sternum!" Since this was the season opener I can forgive them for hitting us over the head with "let me demonstrate my power for those of you who've just tuned in!" THIS time.

Mr. Muggles was freaking cute. The rest of that scene was awful. I don't think I like Claire anymore. I wanted her toe to just heal over and leave a stump. I am sick of her testing her powers, let's move on please.

The Hiro storyline is okay, but really corny.

I wasn't sure I'd be open to the idea of "new" regular heroes, but I really like the twins' storyline so far. In fact, I thought it was the best of the night (though I did like Mohinder's visit to the Haitian.)

The Twin's storyline is boring me as is reading the subtitles. At least with Ando and Hiro they have varying emotion in their Japanese, with the mexicans its just depressed spanish.

I really hope Noah gets to flip more of his bosses onto tables.
