Where is the entire population of New York!?

That WAS supposed to be New York, right? During the final showdown, there wasn't a SINGLE pedestrian on the streets to see what was going on. When Peter was knocked out, in the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, not one car came by, and there wasn't a single person there. Meanwhile, whenever there are actual common citizens, they never take notice when people randomly start using super powers, like when Hiro vanishes in the middle of a crowded block. I'm wondering if anyone in the world would even notice the huge atomic explosion in the sky... I figured it'd be a big point in season 2, the world reacting to the explosion and maybe someone even caught a glimpse of their local congressman flying, but now I'm doubting it.

Is it just me, or did the explosion that Hiro saw in episode 2 happen during the daytime?

Not to be nitpicky, but wouldn't detonating an atomic explosion at an altitude where it was visible from the ground cause waaaay more problems than if it blew up on the ground?

It would, but you have to assume that Nathan flew Peter waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up high. The explosion they've been hinting at for the whole season was pretty massive and, from what we saw last night, it looked significantly smaller in the sky.

That being said, I think it's a miracle the atmosphere didn't catch on fire.

My brother has the HD version and the special features are pretty cool, like:

- the ability to zoom into artwork (there's this one piece where there were footprints on the ground and nothing else but an alley = invisible man?)
- a progressive chart with polaroids of characters with different colored strings to show their connections, crossing out characters as they die
- picture-in-picture commentaries
- having the helix light up every time it appears

Amnesia is a terrible plot device, in my opinion. So the ending was lame for me. And as predicted, Nathan and Peter both survived it seems (unless Peter used one of his crazy powers to get out of it). The unknown person at the end who tackled George Takei better not be Sylar, I know he'll be back this season but they played out the mysterious hooded/baseball capped man for Sylar in the first season. It would have been much more impressive if it showed Sylar. But unfortunately, I'm pretty sure this season will be more building up to a very boring conclusion.

Yesterday's episode was pretty soft in all respects. Nothing really happened, we see like 3 new 'heros' and thats about it. Do I give a shit that the samurai was white? Not really. All in all, I was pretty disappointed with yesterdays episode - especially the amnesia bullshit that's gonna take up 5-7 episodes of self-discovery before *that* goes all back to normal.

*sigh*

Lost starts in February right?
