Cubicle of Honor!

There was a decorated poster with a thread of gold...

Cubicle of Honor!

Postby Casey on Wed Aug 15, 2025 8:42 pm

Okay, so my cubicle (I guess, it's more like part of a "pod" but I have two and a half walls to myself) is really bare and I've been there for a week and a half now (having just finished training). I want cool stuff to put in it but a copy of "C++ in a Nutshell" and an Onion page-a-day calendar just aren't cutting it!

THAT'S WHY I'M STARTING THE CUBICLE OF HONOR ONGOING CONTEST
Image

So here's the deal!

During the latter half of every week (I will try for Wednesday) I will post a theme and you make a work-safe drawing based on that theme. On Sunday or Monday of the following week, I will pick the best one, print it out (ON THE COMPANY DIME), and tack it up on the wall of my cubicle, where it will be proudly displayed for that entire week. And, uh, if you want proof I'll take a picture of it hanging in the spot of honor or something

You can do crazy Photoshopping, mspaint, ArtRage, charcoals, whatever you want. Just keep in mind that I'm only going to pick something that is simultaneously awesome and won't get me in trouble for displaying at work.

OKAY?

Round 1: for August 20-24: Draw a picture of a stop on the most awesome road trip that you and I never took!

man forget this "road trip" business, soda, your theme should just be "what can you do to make your picture look like daniel's?"

search "polaroid" -> cut out the actual image of a young black school girl -> put in road -> put in bear -> balloonz -> faces on balloons (hard light) -> layer of dark blue (lighten) -> layer of orange-ish (overlay)

it's photoshop majik

the point is that it will hang on my wall over the course of August 20-24; on the 22nd I will announce a new topic for a picture due on the 27th that will be on display from Aug 27-31.

Oh yeah so if it wasn't obvious Dan'l won

I had some trouble locating thumb tacks but it was hanging up on my cubicle wall by lunch time on Monday. I have already received some positive feedback about it from coworkers.

SO HERE COMES ROUND TWO

DUE DATE: Sunday August 26. 11:59pm Eastern Time.
TIME FEATURED ON THE WALL: Monday Aug 27 through Friday Aug 31
TOPIC: Draw an awesome scene from an awesome movie. No screencaps allowed!

I need some photographic proof that this was hung in your cublicle. It's an awesome thing and we need to see how it's represented.

Okay well I am not there right now (although they pay me enough that I probably should be, hehh)

I will take a picture of it with my phone at work tomorrow, though, and then I will try to post it here when I can.

Do you want a picture from a real movie? Do you want a picture so awesome it should have been from a movie like a dinosaur fighting a ninja clan?

Note to self: write that movie.

I would like it to be a real movie, but maybe if you change it a little bit I won't notice (for example, if it were a scene from "A Few Good Men" but instead of men they were dinosaurs, I might forget that's not how it went)
