Just out of curiosity, what was the bullshit reason?

He spent a year in England, but didn't do too well in the second semester. Failed two classes, which means he failed 4 classes because he was gone for the year. Even so that doesn't drop his GPA low enough to force him out, especially considering I know more people with lower GPAs and more failures than him who are still enrolled. Further he was never really put on probation or suspension watch, he was just kicked. They said that while he was abroad he must have become an alcoholic (while he drinks, he is certainly not an alcoholic) because on his facebook they saw photos of him out with friends. Essentially since he couldn't do well off campus that means he shouldn't be on campus? When he always did really well on campus before?

In any case, they rejected his appeal and suggested that he seek counselling and apply to get back in next fall aka after all of us graduate. So that's bullshit.

They're kicking him out using "evidence" from his Facebook profile? Isn't that a massive breach of privacy?

I wouldn't think so, seeing as it's out there in the open and all. It still seems ridiculous to jump to that kind of conclusion, because if every university kicked out every student with pictures of them drinking on Facebok and Myspace, that would elminate like 75% of them

No, according to him they did indeed mention photos from facebook, which, ironically enough aren't really all the incriminating. We also don't have a dry campus policy, and the drinking age in England is only 18. So essentially they're full of it.

Told to me this morning by my aunt in regard to my cousin serving in Iraq.

"Steven is okay mentally, but we're not sure about his legs yet."

I guess the caravan he was traveling with got shelled. Nine were killed and twelve more, including him, injured.
