To add what's already been said, you try swimming through a porthole sometime.

Sort of B, the Hydra station which is on another island, was a zoological research station for Dharma and Sawyer and Kate were kept in what used to be Polar Bear cages (although this is simply implied and not explicitly said). How the Polar Bear(s) wound up on the other island, who knows.

I think my favorite moment had to be Hurley running over an Other with a van. It was a feel-good moment that made me think "Good for you, Hurley."

I feel sorry for the impatient fools who have given up on this show. Incredible.

Charlie's been saved at least twice by Desmond's flashes, so all I was trying to say was that after going into that room and hitting the button, If I was Charlie, I'd be going for the hat trick, just like any human being in possesion of future knowledge and survival instinct would.

I understand he shut desmond out to save him from drowning too, but he could have easily tackled his ass out of the doorway and jumped into the sub bay and swam out. And yeah I have tried to swim through a porthole. I found it to be fun and easy.

But if you don't think it's stupid to just die, and not try to alter the future even though it's been established as possible, then whatever. Write on your hand or something.

There are still 3 season left, they don't have to have explained everything halfway through the show's run, you don't need to troll this thread.

They did kind of explain the polar bears through vague reference. The cages that they kept Kate and Sawyer in at the beginning of season three were for the bears. When Sawyer found out how to get food and water, the one guy said that "the bears did it [faster]" or something similar. So theoretically, the polar bears were test subjects for Dharma, and they either escaped or were let go.

Hey Terry, which did you enjoy more: Season 3 or Lost or Battlestar? I have to give the edge to Lost, myself.

You aren't Charlie, so what's the problem?

I figured something that showed up randomly in the first episode might've been explained by the end of the third season. I haven't watched the show regularly since the start of the first season, so I was asking, because I was curious.

But if that's trolling, whatever.

Oh and holy shit, my Dad dropped some knowledge on me about last night's show.
NOT GONNA SPOILER TAG, IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW DONT LOOK AT THE THREAD

As far as the "flashbacks" of beardo Jack is concerned, we were meant to presume that it was the future post-rescue and that he and Kate survived, yes?
Well my Dad pointed out that while this seems to be true, when Jack was yelling at the Chief of Surgery he said "why don't you call my Father, and if I'm more drunk than he is you can fire me!"

However Jacks Dad died before the crash.

:? Wait for it....

:? Wait for it....

 There.

This show is incredible.

And Locke is still awesome.

Yeah, that was a big thing that not many people picked up on, the question is though, is his father actually alive? Or is Beardo Jack so hopped up on pills and alchohol that he was reverting to pre-crash Jack? The doctor he said that to seemed puzzled by this statement, so that could be the case. I have to admit the whole Christian Shepherd mystery is the one that's boggled my mind the most. Consider:

- We've seen his dead body, in the morgue when Jack identifies him.
- His corpse was missing from the coffin, and Yemi's was missing from the plane wreckage later on as well.
- Jack seems to think he is alive after he gets 'rescued' (or however he gets home).

Or is this 'flash forward' simply an alternate timeline, a la Donnie Darko?

I wondered al he same things. My most educated guess, and it is only a guess, is that Jack was just spazzing because he's drugged up. But that goes against the core of the shows WTF foundation so I cant really believe it.

It wasn't a flash-forward. Beardy Jack was flashing back to the island, the flashback noise was at the end of the beard bits not the start like it normally is in flashbacks.

I took it that Jack was just hopped up on pills and confused about his dad, he seemed to get pretty angry when the pharmacist was going to phone his dad's office to check the prescription.

The name (Hoffs/Drawler) is an anagram for 'Flash-Forward.'

To be fair the 'flashback noise' occurs both at the end of a flashback and the end of an island bit. It's more a 'transition noise.'

I tend to the stay hell away from all these detailed speculations and theories about the show. I enjoy reading about Easter Eggs, but for the most part I just like to enjoy the show for what it is.

That being said, does anyone want to speculate on the other Others? Do you think Ben is evil or is he a good guy at heart?

Ben is a prick. But maybe the new others are slightly prickier pricks.

I just watched the season finale online and HOLY CHRIST was that awesome. Nobody I know likes or watches the show, so I come here to see what you guys have to say and you all disappoint. Shame on you. Because jesus christ that was seriously awesome.

Spoiler Alerts!

Who was in the casket? I think it's Locke. At first I thought maybe Ben, but Ben deserves a more glorious death. Locke would be the one to die with nobody caring. Plus there's that whole thing of Jack feeling guilty ever since he got back to the real world and becoming a total alcoholic, and I think part of that guilt comes from knowing that Locke was right all along: they should have never left the island.

And also: So Jack's dad is alive? Was it like nothing ever happened when they got back?

Did any of you watch it?

Something I learned more recently though, if he was trying to get a prescription filled on his fathers pad or whatever, he must be alive because as soon as a doctor dies they eliminate even a remote possibility to get a prescription from their pad or whatever. So he must be alive? I don't know.

Also I don't think it was Locke in the casket, because Helen would at least have shown up. My guess? Michael. Who would go to his funeral? Even Walt might have gotten pissed at him, and the neighbourhood the funeral was at seemed like it was african-american dominated.
