Tonight's episode was really captivating. I like the character of Desmond. Of course, the ending was the best part.

At first I thought tonight's episode was going to be disappointing because I am so impatient and want to know more about Jack and the Others, but I'll be damned if I didn't end up feeling pretty emotional at the end of Desmond's flashback. He's been screwed over pretty badly, and I thought they did a really good job of the weird time travel/flashback/life flashing before your eyes thing. It was very different, since they couldn't really cut between present day and the "flashback", but it was good.

Also, if they deliver on even 1/100th of what the teaser for next week said they would (granted, 1/100th is probably asking too much), next week is going to be insane. There are few things in this world I want more than to know who the Others are (I'm kind of in a holding pattern in my personal life right now, so TV is very exciting to me), and it looks like we might get to start seeing what's going on with them. Plus maybe they're going to start pulling in some of the stuff from the Lost Experience if they explain to Jack where the numbers came from, etc.

I know that last night's episode really had nothing to do with "the plot", but it's the first time I really found myself enjoying Lost in a very long time.

Part of me wonders if it's BECAUSE it wasn't up its own ass in its plot that I enjoyed it. Instead of some inane and confusing storyline, they had to work on character development and relationships. Hmm... just like season 1.

While I haven't hated Season 2 and the other-island part of Season 3 with quite the fiery passion that everyone else seems to have (I actually really liked Season 2), I thought last night's episode was really good. And I think all of my friends who were with me could agree that it was a cool episode, too. So that was fun.

Any thoughts on Hurley's flashback in last night's episode? Cheech was his Dad, so that scored points with me right off the bat. 8)

First thought... I could have sworn at first the reporter's name was Trisha Takinawa. Too bad it wasn't. Would have been a great joke.

I don't think Hurley gave himself adequate room to avoid those rocks without rolling that fucker like an Easter egg to the bottom of the hill. It was a good episode though.

This last episode was pretty great, and reminds me why I trust the writers so much. They've been setting that up since at least the beginning of this season. Sure, it wasn't too integral of a storyline, but it was a great murder-mystery style episode, and it ruled, especially since the ones murdered where people I didn't care about at all, and then came to dislike, because they were liars and pretty terrible people.

Plus, Arst!!

That was such a dark episode. It reminded me a lot of The Twilight Zone. I was almost waiting for Locke to deliver a philosophical monologue at the end of the show.

It was a well done episode, and at least explained random survivors numbers 1 and 2, but in retrospect what was the point? I read that this episode was supposed to reveal one of the big island mythologies, but I'm pretty sure it didn't. I was really hoping the smoke monster would have had something to do with it.

When the two of them were in the jungle towards the end you could hear the smoke monster noise in the background. Maybe it did have something to do with it.

At this point they say a "big island mystery" will be explained every episode, so such claims should be taken with a grain of salt.

The big island mythology was "this one time Paolo took a gigantic, smelly dump in the Pearl station's bathroom"

Yeah, they advertise that just about every week, you can't take it too serious. Hell, I don't even watch the previews. It makes it slightly more shocking when I have no clue what I'm getting into.

For a minute I thought they were going to pull a Carrie with them, but luckily, I don't have to deal with new castmembers from the other side of camp anymore.

I wasn't surprised no, but usually the 'TEN BIG QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED NEXT WEEK' is coming from the promos by ABC or whatever, which the creators have no control over. This time I heard it was Damon Lindelof or Carlton Cuse or whatever those guys names are who said something big would be revealed. It was supposed to blow our minds according to them and my mind remains effectively unblown.

Bwahaha!

I enjoyed the episode. Reminded me of an X-Files "Monster of the Week" episode. Just a nice, one and done.

If the two would have avoided being buried alive at the last second, I would have been pissed. I'm glad Lost finished the job there.

Kudos.

Last night's episode was awesome. Maybe it was because it referenced so many earlier events, but it had a lot of the old tension that I so loved about the show!

Also, the interior of the submarine was DEFINITELY filmed inside the USS Bowfin, a famous tourist destination at Pearl Harbor. I completely recognized the bunks, doors, and kitchen table from my audio-guided tour of the WWII vessel that I took a couple of months ago. Neeeeeeat.

Yeha, I thought it was a great episode too for the same reason. They definately reinstated the old Lost feel that has been, admittedly lacking a bit in a few past episodes.

It was the first time in a long time that I actually had my jaw dropped at the end (excluding the SPIDAH BITE episode being that it wasn't really too plot-relevent).

I loved last night's episode. I have never been a huge fan of Sawyer's serious moments (but you gotta love the nicknames) but he did a fantastic job of acting in the scene with Cooper.

Locke is seeming more and more like Ben to me. I wonder if he's going to take a rebel group of Others and put them up against Ben in Season 4? Supposedly there are already two different groups, although I don't really see what that's about. Do we know who the other others are?

Rousseau's cameo was an obvious foreshadowing of something AWESOME that is on the way for the end of the season. I've been so glad that they keep showing the submarine blowing up in the "previously on lost" segments because I love seeing the huge explosion, Locke dropping to his knees calmly while smiling, and Jack giving him a huge "wtf" look.

I hate Kate and Jack right now because of the way their melodrama is fucking up real island-wide plot stuff, although I still can't help but love Juliet. I just wish I knew what she was really up to and why Jack was less willing to talk to Kate about whatever they're hiding than Juliet was.

From the trailer for next week, it looks like they (Ben and Locke and the Others) are going to some kind of training facility for the Dharma Initiative people. Maybe we'll find out a little more about how the Dharma/Hanso stuff ties into what the Others are doing there.

I'm going to be sooo pissed at whatever cliffhanger I have to endure over the course of the summer. Every season has had a really different feel to it and I'm almost willing to believe that they're going to give us a BUNCH of information at the end of this season and have next season be less about mystery and more about action.
