A Thread for the Posting of Life Upates that Carry Some Weig

Whether you're a newbie or an old-timer, this is the place to hang out and maybe have a drink or two! Oh, and don't mind some of the cranky regulars. They don't bite... hard ;)

My cousin and his wife, both 30 years old, are expecting their 5th.
5 is also the age of their oldest son, and the number of years they have been married, rounded down.
At this point we have just learned to accept that it is a contest to some people.

Yo Fuzzy, what exactly do you drink normally now? Coke is my go-to beverage but it's also probably a significant factor into my weight (gain). I probably have a caffeine addiction by now, but it would be extra helpful if I had a non-harmful product to replace it.

Switch to coke zero. It has no sugar and tastes close enough to coke that you won't notice after a few weeks. Caffeine isn't what kills you, it's the 30 grams of sugar in each can that your body can't metabolize fast enough.

To me, Coke Zero tastes exactly like Diet Coke, which makes it undrinkable. I'd rather go thirsty than drink a Diet Coke. Over the last year or so I've done that thing where I drink water constantly, then have a normal, non-diet soda when the craving strikes me.

Diet soda tastes awful to people that are used to regular soda. Regular soda tastes awful to people that are used to diet soda. It's a fairly brief period until your taste buds get used to it, in my experience - a couple of days to a week.
