GOOOOOOO! That was one of the most graphic deaths I've seen on broadcast TV. Also, was anyone else expecting Walt to mouth "shit!" right after Jack said he would come after him? I mean, it's not like he could hear it, but when that much hell is coming your way, you would certainly feel it. _________________

Oh my god, just seeing him smack his hand against those scissors. AHHH
Also, I was surprised to see that Spencer was a mole. Chloe being cold hearted and then finding out about him afterwards was too great. _________________ shrieking raccoon on a jetpack |

Well, he wasn't really a "mole" in the traditional sense. It was a nice twist to the ordinarily pedestrian twist.
Also, there were two great lines in this episodes.
"I'd like to speak to a lawyer."
"Forget about a lawyer!"
and
"I think he cracked one of my ribs." _________________ I GOT IRATE AND FETCHED MY MAGIC MARKER AND WROTE "WORLDS INCORRECT GRANDMOM" ON ALL HER SUNDAY DRESSES

jack killing the dude was awesome. also, the scene with chloe and spencer which ended with her talking to herself=Thomas Haden Church.
speaking of spencer, he reminds me of someone, but i can't for the life of me think of who.
the only other thing is mrs. logan. i still have my doubts. i hope we're not getting mya driscoll pt. 2. |

I know "cmon get a background check whydoncha"=Thomas Haden Church, but seriously. There can't be a mole in every damn season. And the chief of staff is usually a president's really old friend and most trusted confidant. When would the terrorists even get the chance to get to Mr. Baywatch? I did like Jack fucking people up and the impending mondo-fucking-up of Baywatch, as well as pretty much everything Chloe said or did and the Audrey stuff (and I didn't even like Audrey last season!), but it just seems like we could have a season without a mole (or mistaken mole) and there would still be the possibility for a lot of drama/suspense/action/whatever. _________________ WHEN THE AFRICAN LION ATTACKS |

I did think that the whole "he thought he was working for the President" was a good angle, even if I did call it. Seriously awesome Jack action this week, and I foresee this being a season where Jeck just gets more and more pissed. He's at about a seven on the Pissed-Off Jack Bauer Scale right now, and it's only hour five. Holy sweet Jesus is the chief of staff going to get some hurt put on him before all is said and done. Anyone else catch a "wha...huh?" vibe from the out-of-order-and-context previews of next week? _________________ And this is a promise, because this is true. This is real. This is Straight Edge.

That last fight was too freakin' sweet.
Chloe O'Brien is my hero.
Poor Designing Woman First Lady
Every time someone says "Bill Buchanan" I want to say "and the Big Boss Man."
Edgar should know better than to expect tenderness from Chloe. She's a fierce independent woman who's got no time to love anyone.
I hate Logan. But this is nothing new. I like to call him "President Vagina", because he always seems to be in the process of menstruation. _________________ That's Sandy Frink? What the hell was I thinking? |

I'm enjoying Logan a lot. Gregory Itzin, I think his name is, is doing an excellent job of portraying someone completely overwhelmed and ill-suited for his job.
So we have Jack running up a wall in Season 2, and staying in action with a busted rib in Season 5. Apparently Mike has been imbued with the powers of Bo Jackson, which explains a lot.
Regardless, I'm cool with Sutherland playing center field for the Royals this year. |

Jack just ain't got a thing for capturing people, does he?
CTU has got one hell of a Vermin problem. It's been, what, close to ten years now, and moles just keep popping up all over the place, eating the power cords and shit.
Edgar/Chloe shippers!
Good episode, everyone. Give yourself a pat on the back. _________________

Well, let's run down the list of CTU moles.
Jamie - Legitimate mole
Nina - Legitimate mole
Gael - Initially painted to be a mole, turned out not to be one
Maryanne - Legitimate mole
Spenser - "Mole" in the technical sense, but was authorized by the government to do what he was doing
There may be other moles I don't remember. Of that list, though, I think Maryanne's really the only implausible one. However, it's not so implausible that it hampers the show's credibility.
The Presidential administration moles:
Sherry Palmer - It's kind of strange to me that David, a man with more principal than just about anyone else on the show, would put up with Sherry through twenty years of marriage. She was an incredible presence on the show, though, so I won't complain.
Everyone in Palmer's administration during Season 2 who was conspiring against Palmer (Stanton, Novick, Prescott, etc.) - I thought this was pretty well-done and well-explained. It was so interesting that during Season 2 you didn't mind that the camera wasn't on Jack all the time.
Cummings - At this point in the show, yeah, it's pretty ridiculous that he'd be betraying the President. I can't think of an explanation for this that would really work, but then again I'm not a script writer, so I'll let them give it a shot.
So I guess my point is that of all the moles I can think of, I think Cummings and Maryanne are the only two that are out of order. And they still have the opportunity to explain one of those, so we'll wait and see. |

Well, if we're including fake moles, you can't forget Sarah from last season. She got tortured and everything! Then Michelle punked her out and we never heard from her again.
As for day 2 (which I still consider to be the finest season of 24, hands down), that whole angle was GOLD. Pure gold. You liked Palmer in the first season. But season two is when Palmer became OUR HERO THE BEST PRESIDENT OF ALL TIME WHY CAN'T HE BE THE REAL PRESIDENT WHY? And with Novick being a mole, it was definitely the most emotionally impactful mole for me, even more so than Nina. During all of season one, we wondered if Novick was shifty, because he seemed kinda shifty, and then we get through much of season two, and we finally reach the point where we trusted him and BAM! Betrayal like wo.
When it comes to the statement that you didn't mind in season two if the camera wasn't on Jack all the time, well, that's half-true. While the Palmer mutiny was the best subplot of the series, the Kim content in season 2 was the worst Kim content EVER. She was at the apex of her stupidity in season 2. Stealing cars with corpses in the trunk, having a stupid spinkicking boyfriend, leaving the kid she babysits next to a dumpster for 3 Live Kru to find, battling a cougar, wearing a tight tanktop in the bomb shelter with a weirdo, getting out of the nice lady's SUV instead of getting that ride to CTU because she had to have an emo moment... god, I hate Kim.
Season 4 was *almost* my favorite simply for the fact that there was no Kim. _________________ That's Sandy Frink? What the hell was I thinking? |

Novick wasn't a mole. He was doing what he thought best for the country. He didn't think Palmer was up to handling the task at hand and went about doing something to secure national integrity. It's completely different than Nina shooting Jack's wife, but I could've done without him killing literal mole, I guess. _________________ [quote="Bismark"]Didn't you know? I noticed that last season, and I kind of think it's intentional. It's obvious at this point that you're not really supposed to identify with Logan—empathize perhaps, and they do a great job of portraying a guy who's perpetually in way over his head...but not identify with or really like—and I've always thought it was a conscious decision to make him kind of Nixonian. At certain angles, when Gregory Itzen smiles, it's uncanny how much he looks like Nixon. _________________ WHEN THE AFRICAN LION ATTACKS |

I've noticed that Season 4 was a turning point for the series. The action was faster and Jack and Co. didn't just deal with one issue. They dealt with lots of bad stuff that was all tied together. They seem to be continuing that idear with Season 5, which is a good thing. I can't wait to see Jack give Cummings whats coming to him! _________________ I will rule you all! |

HA-FUCKING-HA! Did anyone else notice that Edgar seemed to gain - oh I dunno - about 150 lbs from last season? The dude is just silly-fat now. _________________ No one Ever Really Dies. |

That kid, Derek, is the actor who plays him related to Crispin Glover?
