Last night my bass player (forum lurker until his registration finally gets approved) David and I journeyed to San Francisco to watch Jersey's best dancers play Northern California for the first time since they broke up ten years ago.
Some of you may remember my post about the Propagandhi show I went to and the lameness of the crowd. Well, last night's show was the opposite of that. I felt like I was part of something special. The crowd was there solely for the love of the band, with no motive other than to sing as loud as they could and have a good time. Lifetime certainly had no trouble providing the means to either goal, with a blistering and flawless twenty-song set (including encore) that made it seem as though they never left. Looking around at the smiling, ecstatic crowd it was plain to see that they never left their fans' hearts.
Hope those of you who enjoy Lifetime get a chance to see them wherever you may be. If you do get that chance, please don't pass it up. You'll never forgive yourself. _________________ And this is a promise, because this is true. This is real. This is Straight Edge.

I'll confess i've never heard of Lifetime.
However i've been to a show or two like the one you describe. It's a wonderful experience to go see music performed that's important to you and feel like the crowd feels the same way. Rather than being one of a handful of people paying attention while the majority of the people at the club are drinking/talking/attempting to procreate or what have you. _________________ There is love inside my heart to show you i'm not numb. |

I didn't like them at first, but I've finally found the love of a Lifetime.
Also I enjoy their countless Golden Girls reruns. _________________

I am jealous.
Where is there a list of tour dates? I haven't seen one anywhere. |

They did like two shows back east, three shows in CA, and are doing two in TX. That's all I'm aware of. Try searching punknews.org _________________ And this is a promise, because this is true. This is real. This is Straight Edge.

| I keep hoping for more shows to be announced in the Midwest but it doesn't look like it's happening. Thanks for the recommendation. Congrats on seeing them, you lucky bastard. |
