overall, i thought it was a well done, tense episode, but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, i'm really worried about where the thing with logan's wife is going. it's got sherry palmer written all over it, and imo, one sherry was enough. i also found her scene with cummings' wife rather predictable.
but for the good stuff, the scenes with jack and erwich's men were great. i didn't even really mind that erwich didn't seem to notice when jack answered the phone in rossler's place. a lot of people expected kim to be in the mall, but i'm glad she wasn't, maybe her appearance will be a total surprise (that is until fox gets a hold of it.)
one thing i do find odd is how jack's newest ladyfriend and the male kim bauer seem to have just vanished. but maybe that's a good thing. |

Didn't he send them back to the oilfields? I was pretty sure they went home one or two episodes ago. Anyway, I actually thought this was kind of a weak episode. Of course, the very basis of the show requires you to suspend your disbelief and it's no fun to just talk about how unbelievable certain things are, but, given the way Jack has done business the first four seasons, it seemed pretty improbable that he would let it get to the point it did. And it seems like they could have and should have just intercepted the terrorists before they got to the mall and tortured them until they led Jack to Erwich; if he could find a way to break fundamentalist Muslim suicide nuclear bombers, he should be able to get to these KNUCKLEHEADS. I did like what a weenie Logan continues to be, though. Trying to shove off the decision on Bill Buchanan, classic! _________________ WHEN THE AFRICAN LION ATTACKS |

My favorite scene in the episode was when Jack found the little girl in the food court, took off his own mask without a thought, and brought her out. It was totally underplayed, but I loved it.
Mrs. White House is not Sherry Palmer. She isn't at all like her. What she is is annoying. As hell. I can't stand Mrs. Logan. I love Mr. Logan, though.
Fair episode. I get a feeling we're getting revved up for something good. _________________

yeah, that's what jack (and audrey) wanted to do, but mcgill wouldn't let them. chalk it up to one of the many poor command decisions in the show's history, i guess. and speaking of mcgill, the thing with his crackhead sister better turn into something totally awesome, or it'll go down as the most useless subplot in the show's history. yes, more so than kim's adventures in babysitting. and yeah, he did send them back to the oilfields, i just figure we'd have heard them mentioned again by now. 'cause c'mon, you know they'll be back.
as for mrs. logan, she's trying to control her husband's presidency by being a bitch. which is what sherry did, although for different reasons. threatening to go to the press about cummings reeked of sherry, to me. |

why doesn't CTU use satellite coverage to find the terrorists. you know where they WERE, maybe if you rewind 5 or 10 minutes you might see a truck leaving the scene. god CTU is dumb. _________________ Soy loco por las Cornballs |

They probably will. But since this is 24 and they're CTU, what'll happen is Erwich and company will drive into a garage, change trucks, drive out and nobody will be the wiser. CTU operate like the cops from Grand Theft Auto. _________________
Didn't you know? Having uncontrollable shits is wicked scene.
|

I don't know if anyone else does this, but since I've been watching 24, especially alone, I tend to pump and my fist in the air whenever Jack Bauer does something righteous. I hold it there, too, as if I'm acting in solidarity with him.
Needless to say, when Jack acted against presidential orders and saved 900 people from nerve gas, the fist pumping didn't let up for like three hours after the show ended. |

I pump my fist for so many people. Jack Bauer, John McClaine, John Rambo, Jules, Tyler Durden... and when someone does something really cool (I've got a machine gun now. Ho! Ho! Ho!) I yell out fuck yeah to accompany the fist pump. _________________
Didn't you know? Having uncontrollable shits is wicked scene.
|

The main difference between Sherry Palmer and Mrs. Logan is that the latter is entirely justified feeling the way she does. This season she has already been framed, made to look like she's insane, totally fucked with mentally, prepped to be sent to the looney bin, been chloroformed, and has morally been in the right the entire time. Then when she finally gets the President to acknowledge that he's been a fool and asks for her help, he immediately blows off everything they've been working towards the moment it's possible for him to save face. Not that I'm condemning President Logan. I genuinely feel bad for the guy every week and he's consistently my favorite person on 24 not named Jack Bauer. Although Mrs. Logan is a tad grating and looks like Kim Catrall has been left out in the sun too long, it's simply not fair to compare her to the most irritating character ever seen on television who did not belong to the cast of All That or MadTV. _________________ And this is a promise, because this is true. Man, so much haterizing on the First Lady. I don't know what you guys are watching.
She's not a THING like Sherry. Sherry was massively entertaining but she didn't have a shred of integrity. Martha has integrity like Kurt Angle, except hers is legit and not heelish like Kurt's.
Martha's definitely been playing the Palmer role, standing up for honesty and morality, which makes sense since Palmer trusted her enough to want to talk to her about the shit that was goin' down.
She does, however, have absolutely abysmal taste in men. Logan is like the Webster's definition of the word "pussy," seriously. He is more of a vagina than classical vocalist Josh Groban, and that's saying something. _________________ That's Sandy Frink? What the hell was I thinking? |

Oh well, at least she's better than President Keeler's wife.
