Some of my current associates, if you will, were looking at my ipod the other day and said that I had the weirdest taste in music. Half of the groups I had on there they said they had never heard of. Am I the only one this ever happens to? Here is one album that I love but no one else seems to know about, which is a real shame cause it's awesome:

Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers - Honkey Tonk Union

They have a lot of other good ones, plus a really good album from 2004 called Americano!

Del was featured on a Tony Hawk soundtrack, so he's instantly disqualified from the unknown conversation.

I just scrolled through my playlist and the only bands on there I like that I don't think many people have heard of are the Arrogant Sons of Bitches and the Stray Bullets. Even bands like Q and not U and Piebald, while not well known still have a pretty strong following, so I'm hesitant to list them.

They opened for Pixies when I saw them back in September. Even though they have a terrible, Dave Barryesque name, they were far better than the other opening act, Army of Me.

Wow, it's like your the authority on underground music. Thanks for putting me in my place!

I still say that despite his alleged appearance on the Tony Hawk game, lots of people haven't heard this CD.

Lots of people haven't heard a 50 Cent CD either. These people listen to stuff like Del instead.

I like Clayton better than the rest of you.

Copperpot's self-titled album and "Nothing Lasts Forever."
"Pure, Unadultrated Hate Is The Best Medicine" by Punch Drunk.

And to a lesser extent...
"Get Rad" by Inspection 12.
"Greetings From Mount Rockmore" by Second Saturday.
"Dork Rock Cork Rod" by the Ergs.
"Used" by Brad Yoder.
"Dismissed" by Charlie Brown Gets A Valentine.

You're absolutely right. The number of people who don't know who 50 Cent is is definitely comparable to the number of people who don't know who Del Tha Funkee Homosapien is. One has sold tens of millions of records and has a movie and video game about him. The other...not so much.

If the point of this thread is to name CD's that you like that lots of other people haven't heard, I think Deltron 3030 is a very appropriate choice because not a lot of people have heard of it. Thanks for your feedback, though.

Right. I'm sorry. Not a lot of people know who a major label rapper who happens to be Ice Cube's cousin is.
