Half-Life 2 Deathmatch Game Playing League

Now that I finally have a decent PC, Kyle and I were playing some Half-Life 2 tonight. I beat him horribly and he needs people to help him not lose as badly. Does anyone else around here have any interest in playing with us?

I have absolute interest in playing. Currently, I have a shitty 32mb card installed. Luckily, a best bud recently upgraded to a new computer, and he's gonna send me his old Geforce 5200 Ultra. It ain't top of the line or anything, but it'll allow me to play HL2 on low-medium settings. Once I've got it, I'll be sure to let you guys know.

Have you tried running it anyway? About a year ago, I was playing HL2 Deathmatch with a 16 MB Radeon 8500 card. It didn't look spectacular, but the framerate wasn't that bad and it was certainly playable. The rest of the PC's specs weren't great either. I had like a 1.5 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. The only issue was that every once in a while the PC would freeze up, but I'd attribute that to a software issue more than anything. Anyway, if you have HL2 available, maybe you should give it a shot and see if you can play on your current system until you get the new card.

I would give it a shot if I didn't have the world's most incompatible video card. It's the ProSavage chipset, and it doesn't work with 99% of the games that have come out in the last few years. It lacks the ability to display a certain type of lighting (T&L, I believe), so games either won't run at all, or, in the case of Battlefield, everything is a series of jagged points shooting out of everything on the screen.
