Pholby, for the love of god, if you don't post something every week for the rest of your life, I WILL STAB THIS TEDDY!
Great job from all you guys. Emily, probably the best part of the Stand posts, though I might need a refresher since it's been *check's watch* nine years since I last read them. IHBFd update funny as ever, though I'd like to know which of you guys wrote what. _________________

Great, great piece, pholby. Have only read that yours so far, but you really, really sucker-punched the point. Damn good. Bra-fucking-vo!!
Just one little idea though: did you ever think about mentioning something about yourself along the same lines as the subjects you mentioned? Like something about yourself that should seem shameful but you feel you don't have to feel any shame over, that you accept?
Just throwing the idea out there as interesting thought/experiment/tangent to the article. _________________ A suitable ending, I think! |

Jon wrote the Spear-Chucking Natives (all of the Jonny Quest entries are written by Jon), Fireball wrote the Charlie Chan entry, and I wrote the rest of them. _________________

Pholby, that was great. I found myself nodding my head and being like "Damn right!" or, "Y'know...he has a point" the entire time I was reading your article. Well done! _________________ Like hot naked chicks? Click here. |

Pholby, I'm glad to see your writing on the site. I'll love to see more in the future. Emily congratulations on finishing the epic task of exploring The Stand. Your writing is humorous and enchanting.
I also forgot about that Ed Grimley cartoon until now. I can't imagine who was a huge fan of that. |

I thought about it. I felt it would have had a significant effect on the tone and focus of the piece, so I didn't do it. I alluded to it once, "That's the business. That's the way it works, and I fucking love it." and admitted to one thing I am ashamed of. I thought that was enough.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. _________________ "You're a pussy, Strong!"

I particularily liked Pholby's article this week. Very interesting.
And for whatever reason, I now have a compelling urge to speak to him using only Vicious Whisper quotes. |

Pholby, that was great. Good job. Anything that makes me feel okay for hating Tucker Max is good in my book.
IHBFDb updates were good, I especially liked the one about Tom.
Emily I swear I'll read your article, but I need to read from the beginning (i.e. part one)-- I still haven't read a lot of stuff in the archives. If I don't post back here again to sing your praises (or be really critical and mean), you have my permission to unleash a biological weapon on my hometown or something. _________________

Top 3 things about the IHBFDB (in no particular order):
1) "The show only lasted for 16 episodes, but it lives on in the hearts of anybody gay enough to play "Vampire: The Masquerade," choose the Toreador clan, and think they're cool when they say their art of choice is the "art of WAR." " and associated Castlevania quote.
2) Everything making fun of Ed Grimley. I mean, man. He deserves it.
3) The sad, empty lives of Spear Chucking Natives.
Also, what the hell. Charlie Chan doesn't even look Asian in that picture. He looks black. If you told me that was an Asian I would refute your claim incredulously!
also if you send his dog into space then we have what is called a "chu chu rocket" _________________

Emily, The Stand is your epic. It has been throughly enjoyable throughout and I only wish it could continue. Of course, this would require more episodes of this trash that you would be forced to watch so I'm sure you don't want that at all. Great work.

For f**** sake. I hate Stephen King.
Pholby, a truly superb article. I really enjoyed the part about wrestling, a subject you are clearly passionate about. I thought everything was well thought out and you illustrated all your points very well.

It's not just that he isn't ashamed; it's that he's proud. Not content with just plain being what he is, Tucker insists that being what he is makes him great. |
I completely agree, although I would like to hear what Eli Wallach thinks about all this. Oh. Nevermi-
IHBFd crew, always entertaining.

In the same vein was Yo Yogi and I'm sure I don't have to explain the premise of this show.

Even if you did lose that ability to make the argument you still obviously have the ability to make that reference so it's all jake.
Good work all around. Please bring back the comics. |

Jesus. Yes times a million on that one. I read a lot of his crap once you guys got linked to the NLHN, and kept thinking, 'How the hell did he get on this? He's SHIT!'
I really liked this one. The entire thing, for there was some sort of introspection around it. It wasn't trying to be funny, but it made me smile here and there and feel good about stuff. |
