Roderick Strong, holder of one of the gayest ring names in history, is an independent wrestler for organizations like NWA TNA and Ring of Honor. He's kinda small, smooth like a giant penis, and is generally the blandest motherfucker alive. But since he wrestles for independent promotions, everyone who follows said independent promotions LOVES HIM. One of those things. "RODERICK STRONG THAS MY BOY."

Anyway, his schtick is that he is "The Messiah of the Backbreakers." He does backbreakers ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Just CONSTANTLY. As his career goes on they become all the more convoluted and unnecessarily complex. He's like the fucking Rube Goldberg of backbreakers. If a guy is running at him and Strong Rod should just clothesline him or kick him or something, he'll instead lift the runner into the air, spin around backwards, flip the man 3 times in the air, and bring him down with a backbreaker across the inside of his own thigh or something. It's retarded. But people love it.

So yeah, that should explain the joke.

Sadly, I'm not able to access the new Batista era. Strong's gotten loads better in the past year, but he's been working matches against the likes of Danielson, Punk, Gibson, Joe, and the CROWN JEWEL OF THE EMBASSY all year, so basically I could work programs with those guys and be ROH's MVP, too.

Always good to find fellow Strong-bashers. I've seen him live three times, and he's never ceased to be meh. But he's suddenly an Indy darling, and I have no idea why. He's a good wrestler, but that's all he is. Good. I saw him face AJ Styles on Impact and had no idea it was him until Tenay mentioned that Messiah Of The Backbreaker nickname.

I'll be seeing him on 12/3 in Manhattan, and he should be more interesting then. But that's mainly cuz he's involved in a War Games type thing. I figure if anything can give him some color, it'll be a War Games cage.
