I had to revive this.

I just started listening to a band called 'Porcupine Tree.' Terrible name, I know. But I really enjoy listening to these cats. They are mellow, relaxing, and pretty melodic (which I like). There is a catch however. They sound like all of the following:

Incubus
Tool
Oasis
Coldplay
Dream Theater
And many more...

By that I mean that they kind of rip each of the band's styles at certain points. Every now and then a song will come on and you'll say 'Maynard? Maynard is that you?' Or else, 'Liam Flash Gallagher, you son of a bitch!' It's really pretty insane, and kind of low, but I still like listening to them. Give em a shot.:

I've had her album for a while. She's pretty ok, but I'm still disappointed that she isn't truly outrageous.

That isn't a joke.

Just about every band on Purevolume.com really blows, but I have found two that tickle my fancy, The Fury and Have Fun Dying (which is strange, because bands with three words in their name tend to suck)

I know they started in 1990, but the drive home DJ on the rock station I listen to out of Houston has been playing Possum Kingdom from Toadies. I dunno why, but that song gets stuck in my head so easily... and that alone will get me to buy a CD

The album is worth it. Tyler like a mofo.

Wow... this is really late, but have ya'll listened to any of the Burden Brothers stuff at all? I caught them acoustic at a show around here, and was suprised. They were pretty good. Sounds alot like Toadies did, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

And as for my music tastes, there's nothin I really wanna mention here. For fear of being sent away with my tail between my legs.

Just downloaded the CD by The Boy Least Likely To

It's awesome. I've been listening to it for the past few hours.

Bought that new Rilo Kiley joint yesterday, and "Does He Love You?" is both one of the saddest songs I've ever heard and one of my current favorites.

I started listening to Jeff Buckley about six months ago, very very late I know, but eh.

There's a band called Gogol Bordello that I've "started" listening to. They're a gypsy punk band and I've only heard one song of theirs (called Start Wearing Purple) and it was quite...different, but I liked it.

The Test-Icicles. To tell the truth I'm starting to get tired of the endless dance beats and the Two Synthesizers In Every Garage Band campaign thats been sweeping through music lately but these guys are actually pretty good and if they had come out earlier I might have liked them more.

Bonus points also awarded for when they go out of style and someone attempts to pun their name as "Testicles"

Well apparently only the shitty ones want to be my friend. Tell all your "good bands" to promote themselves better.

Mike, you can edit your MySpace preferences so that bands can't add you as a friend.

Buuuuuuuut...the reason I'm bumping this is because I heard a pretty great song on the radio today. The band is Everybody Else and the song is Meat Market. Yes yes, you can hear them on myspace, but they were great! I guess they just brought their demo into the radio station two weeks ago, and are now getting into rotation. Fun song!
