Thanks, Mike.
I don't know, Justin, it seems like you're looking too far into a few songs on the Cheer Up CD. I think I understand what you're saying though but I don't think that those few songs are enough to dismiss it as something Reel Big Fish wouldn't throw out there. It seems like the songs you mentioned were honestly just some sort of filler. Though, as a RBF and Sublime fan, I really liked the Boss DJ cover. But you can't tell me that the rest of the songs are not hands-down something they would play. If you mean that there's a gap in the CD where the songs just suck (#11 & 12 are probably the ones I fast-forward), then I guess I see what you're saying.
Edit: Whoa, too many responses while I was typing. Don't know if I should go back and quote now, sorry, Thomas Haden Church. _________________ icesk8erkn: WHO R THO |

For some reason I've never owned an Alice in Chains or Tool CD. I don't know which to start with. Maybe I'll try those. _________________ icesk8erkn: WHO R THO |

Yeah, basically. Tracks 11-14 aren't worth much to me and the live acoustic version of Boss DJ I saw them play blows away the recorded version. And in my opinion, Ban the Tube Top should've never happened. What's left are 11 good-to-awesome songs with too much filler in between to consider the album to be anything more than adequate. _________________
Didn't you know? I started listening to both after getting into heavier stuff, so those albums stand out more for me. Tool-wise, I'd say Undertow is more accessible for people not accustomed to such music, and as for AiC, well...everyone has a different preference. I'd suggest downloading (!) a few tracks off each album and making a decision off that. |

I gotcha, Justin. I can see that then.
Buck, I have a lot of Alice in Chains downloaded on my computer and I love all of it, that's why I need to get one of their CDs already. I'd say my favorite songs of theirs that I have are "Rooster", "Them Bones" and "Heaven Beside You". As for Tool, I love "Sober", it's probably one of my favorite songs, period. _________________ icesk8erkn: WHO R THO |

Oh crap. I need to switch out Punk in Drublic for Don't Let the Bastards Grind You Down by The Toasters. I just pulled this one out of mothballs a few nights ago and I forgot about how great it is (The Toasters are responsible for getting me into ska back in like, '96).
They've been going strong for 25 years and it's too bad they don't get the respect they deserve. _________________
Didn't you know? Having uncontrollable shits is wicked scene.
|

DLTBGYD is SO, SO awesome, but I actually prefer Dub 56 and Hard Band For Dead, which along with DLTBGYD I consider to be the three most indispensable Toasters albums.
My tentative list:
Billy Joel - Greatest Hits Vol. I & II
Descendents - Milo Goes To College
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Johnny Cash - American Recordings
U2 - Joshua Tree
The Cure - Disintegration
Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle/Dr. Dre - The Chronic
Bad Religion - Against the Grain
Zao - Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest
And even though I don't care for it, just know that Nevermind is on the list. Just substitute that for whatever you don't like in my list. _________________ And this is a promise, because this is true. This is real. This is Straight Edge.

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Bob Dylan - Oh, Mercy
Johnny Cash - American Recordings IV: The Man Comes Around
The Pixies - Doolittle
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Radiohead - OK Computer
Nirvana - In Utero
Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
In no particular order after Loveless _________________ "'If you want a rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain,' - do you know which philosopher said that? Dolly Parton. And people say she's just a big pair of tits."

Neutral Milk Hotel is awesome. They should team up with the Decemberists and be unstoppable. They are two halves of a delicious, nougat-filled whole. _________________ And this is a promise, because this is true. This is real. This is Straight Edge.

I'm sorry, I can't let this slide. Really? Granted, Tical was a huge dissapointment, but even the All I Need single beats Judgement Day. I'd have to go with Ghostface Killah's Iron Man.
On a side note, anyone catch Chris Rock puting Supreme Clientele on his top 25 rap albums of all time? Come on, 36 Chambers isn't even mentioned. And he put it above EVERY public enemy album. AND he put Wyclef's The Carnival above Ice Cube?!? I call shenanigans. _________________

Well he is Chris Rock. He ain't hard. I'm sure if he has to hear about someone getting shot, he'd prefer Wyclef singing about how 'you could catch a bullet in your goose' rather than
Yo yo god, word is bond shymeek just got busted in his head two times, god. Word is bond, you know shymeek from 212, god. Niggas in the blackland, god, word is bond, came though god, word is bond, from out of nowhere, god. CRAZY shots just went the fuck off, god. The nigga layin there like a fucking newborn fucking baby, god.
Is he dead?
Is he fuckin dead? What the fuck you mean is he fuckin dead, god? Fuck you think? The nigga layin' there with his fuckin, with all types of fuckin blood comin out his fuckin, yo god, whasup, god?
I miss Wu-Tang. _________________ "You're a pussy, Strong!"

I had a hotlinked image here, but now it's gone, because that's against the rules.
P.S. It was pretty big for no good reason, too. |

1. Hotlinking images. DON'T FUCKING DO IT! It steals bandwidth from other sites, and since we don't want people doing it to us, we're not going to be tolerating it either. www.imageshack.us provides free hosting for near any sort of image, except pornography. Which works nicely into the second rule...
Ah, I see then. |

Yeah. I'm not much of a rap aficionado, I usually go as far as beastie boys. But when judgement day the single aws released, I loved it to shit, and I had a gift certificate. I found the cd to be pretty well balanced and funny. It's just gard saying you like it. |
