311- Transistor
Simon & Garfunkel- [I really hate to, but...] The Essential Simon & Garfunkel
Sublime- 40 oz to Freedom
Nick Drake- Pink Moon
Ani DiFranco- Living in Clip
Reel Big Fish- Why do They Rock So Hard? (I saw them last night. I still like them, despite ska being "out", ohhh, 10 years ago. It's okay, you can laugh.)
Boy Hits Car- Boy Hits Car
Breaking Benjamin- We are Not Alone
Wu-Tang Clan- 36 Chambers
Alanis Morrissette- So Called Chaos (no, really)

But I don't know. Ask me tomorrow and it'll be different. More than likely alternating other CDs from some of the people I've listed already.

Well, crap, I guess I misinterpreted the words "of your lifetime". Or just didn't take it literally, rather.

I am also of the opinion that including a greatest hits which contains songs from outside of your lifetime is cheating at the internet.

Eh, hence the "I really hate to, but..." part. And it's not their greatest hits CD, it's the essestials.

Everybody knows Turn the Radio Off is their best album. And ska isn't out. You've just got to know where to look, is all. Boston still has a pretty kickin' scene helmed by Big D & the Kids Table.

Hmmm, never heard of em. I'd still like Save Ferris too if they were still playing.

Turn the Radio Off and Why Do They Rock So Hard? are probably my two favorites of RBF. It's a toss-up for me because I like all of their music.

I can't help but disagree and say that Cheer Up! is their best work. Turn the Radio Off just ran the entire "sellout" angle straight into the ground. Over and over. And over.

Cheer Up! Woud've made a great B-Sides album, but there's no cohesive flow to it in general. That being said, Drunk Again is the best song they'll ever record and Scott needs to sing more.

That song is actually what solidifies it as my favorite Reel Big Fish album.

Besides the cover of New York, New York (one of my pet peeve songs), I think that CD was really good. Which is why I wrote that I would alternate CDs from some of the bands that I listed. Reel Big Fish is pretty consistent in their sound. I really don't see how you can like one CD and not the other. The only thing I can understand is maybe getting sick of them because of their consistency. But I think all their albums are pretty well put-together.

I'm going to have to agree with Groupie on her choice of best Reel Big Fisn album. Sorry Justin.

It isn't a bad album... it doesn't make much sense within the context of their other albums, is all. Where Have You Been? was an obvious pander to what was the current surefire radio sound, and if you've ever seen them play it live you'd note the inclusion of upstrokes and horn section. There are those four or so songs in the middle of the album which pay homage two-tone, but then there's a weird pseudo-joke hair metal song, the New York, New York cover, an instrumental and a poorly chosen Sublime cover.

Turn the Radio Off, Why Do They Rock So Hard and We're Not Happy if You're Not Happy work as one story-arc. The rise, height of popularity and fall of the band, if you will. Cheer Up!, while having a few standout tracks (the Average Man B-side is phenomenal) doesn't make much sense as anything other than a collection of songs they had kicking around and label obligations they needed to fill.
