I got my CD from Lindy the other day and finally got around to sittin' down with it. To tell you the truth,I didn't like most of the songs, mostly because they were either really eighties sounding or had girls singing on them and I don't like girl singers much. I didn't even like the Talking Heads song ("Radiohead"). I'm starting to think that I don't actually like the Talking Heads much, I think they're neat and all, but there are only a few songs that I can come back to and listen to more than once.

Here are the songs I liked:

Elton John - Daniel (hay wait a sec-)
HUM - Stars
Regina Spektor - Love Affair
Spoon - Anything You Want
John Vanderslice - Exodus Damage

I liked the Vanderslice song a lot. I've been aware of him for quite a while because he produced the last couple of Mountain Goats CD, but I always forgot to check him out. Downloaded his Pixel Revolt album last night and oh, oh, oh, so good.

Thank you Mike Fireball! I'm listening to Mix CD On A Waterslide right now and it's kicking ass. And I'm only on track 1.

Does your opinion still stand after you heard the other 19?

Shamrock supposedly sent his a week ago, but as of now, it is yet to arrive.

EDIT: It must have come yesterday, and I'm not sure how I missed it.

Also, First Class Mail, ooh la la.

Also, no track listing?

Yankee

No track listing because Jewel Case Templates confuse me and are for some reason always smaller than the actual Jewel Case.

1. The Greeting Song Red Hot Chili Peppers
2. Roulette Dares The Mars Volta
3. Everlong Foo Fighters
4. This Velvet Glove Red Hot Chili Peppers
5. Jane Says Jane's Addiction
6. You've Got to Hide Your Love Away The Beatles
7. Castles Made of Sand Jimi Hendrix
8. Don't Go Away Oasis
9. Where the Wild Roses Grow Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue
10. El Scorcho Weezer
11. The Needle and the Damage Done Neil Young
12. Off He Goes Pearl Jam
13. Fairytale of New York The Pogues
14. Getchoo Weezer
15. Death Valley Queen Flogging Molly
16. The Black Angel's Death Song Velvet Underground
17. Savior Red Hot Chili Peppers
18. When the Ship Comes In Bob Dylan
19. Lisa's Protest Song The Simpsons

Also, my CD came a week ago and I finally got home to look at it. It's apparently from Zurich and I'm unable to assertain who it's from. I didn't know anyone actually lived in Zurich.

Yeah, that's me. I actually ended up sending mine out twice because there was an uneven number of participants. Hope the other one has arrived as well.

did you like it?

Oh and Mando, if you don't send me my CD already I'm going to stab you in the eye with Sean Connery. I know where your house lives.

Yes sir, I got my mix Mr. Sith.

I really like it. It has a nice mix of strange foreign music (which I love) and other stuff. And just about everything I've either never listened to before (Decemberists) or have never heard of.

The only problem with it is that it keeps skipping. Sad It was skipping from the first time I played it so I was sad. Other than that, I loved it.

I figured if you didn't like the mix the peach and the Vonnegut article would ease the pain. Glad to see I was right.

Also, Vanderslice is awesome. I got to see him play live with Spoon a few years back, so I'm happy you liked that song.

What the fuck? I took it straight out of my dad's burner into the envelope, didn't even play the bloody thing.

Meh, I'm gonna upload the album in the next couple of days to the other thread we had originally for people who didn't want to mail stuff. I was going to do that anyway, just wanted to wait for you two to receive it first. If you don't feel like downloading the whole thing again, tell me which tracks skip and I'll make a separate upload.
