Are you sure those weren't what's commonly referred to as prairie dogs? _________________ Flame-broiled souls. |

I've been there twice, and honestly, the bear pit is one of the reasons I stay away from the place.
That and I suck at putt putt golf.
And how the hell did monkeys burn down their own cage? _________________ Nothing stops Eddie Guerrero.

The animals that I've seen at the Philadelphia zoo looked malnourished and unhappy. Of course I don't expect it to be spotless, but I expect a zoo's number one priority to be conservation of wildlife, and I did not get that vibe from the Philadelphia zoo. Plus, I don't think the apes were the ones who weren't keeping up with the wiring maitenance, letting it get so bad that it burnt down.
I've met a lot of people who disagree with me, but I refuse to like or support the Philadelphia zoo. I think it's a great historical sight, but not the best place for the animals to be.
And I have the Brookfield zoo in Chicago to compare it to. Now that is a zoo. I used to go there all the time as a kid, and I was there not a week before the whole incident where Binti saved the boy who fell in. Binti also is head of maitenance, where she makes damn sure her ape house isn't going to burn down. |
Brookfield is a quality zoo, also one of the better ones. I was kidding about the apes burning down their house, by the way. |

| My uncle had a pet monkey that incidentally burned down half of their house and himself 'monkeying around' with wires. |

This is my favorite thread! B took a great picture of a polar bear, and a great picture of Lindy.
It's like I got to go to the zoo with you.
P.S.- Anyone live near me?? (Phoenix, AZ) _________________ Boiskov: He cries when he gets on an elevator and the button for his destination floor has already been pushed, because he would have liked to have been the one to push the button. |

Uh-oh.. I see cleavage. We should slap a PG-17 rating on that. _________________ Boiskov: He cries when he gets on an elevator and the button for his destination floor has already been pushed, because he would have liked to have been the one to push the button. |

If I wear anything that is slightly low cut, it's always a cleavage warning.
That was just an excuse for him to break out that picture. He likes it much more than I do, mostly because of the super dimple. I just am not a fan of my wonky eye there. _________________ shrieking raccoon on a jetpack |
