man don't even bitch about the changes from the Japanese version. This game is awesome wicked fun and if you don't like it then you hate having fun.

Yeah, I'm at the last song (I think?) on one-star difficulty and have cleared five-odd songs on two-star difficulty. I love that David Bowie is on it. Most of the songs aren't as bad as the originals were, but disappointingly the Ashlee Simpson and Avril songs are worse I think
I thought there was a Jackson Five song on this, am I just not up to it yet? (Up to the song with the UFOs)

PS I'm also enjoying this more than Osu, but part of that could be not really knowing what was going on in Japanese and so not giving it a fair go.

Jumping Jack Flash is kicking my ass even on one-star. As much as I love this game I'm not very good at it.
What I find interesting about this game is that it makes songs that would otherwise be entirely intolerable (Ashlee Simpson, Avril Lavigne, etc) actually kind of entertaining. I'd never buy a CD just so I could hear "La La" again, but the level makes it kind of fun.

And I've heard rumors that I might have nearly cried on the "You're My Inspiration" level. Shut up shut up shut up

I just realized after looking at screen shots that I played this game like two years ago for about 10 minutes and didn't realize what everybody was talking about.

I just beat Jumping Jack Flash, it took a while. The credits talk about extra songs by Cher, Jackson Five and Destiny's Child! Wow! I am excited, but I don't know how to unlock them. I hope it isn't getting A's on each song or something because so far (even getting a perfect song) my best is a B.

I have cleared about 10 songs on two-star difficulty but I think I have hit my limit.

I'm pretty sure the extra songs are unlocked when you get your rank high enough.

And is Good Charlotte a lot more fun to listen to when you're doing it to help a slumping baseball player regain his ability by defeating a gigantic fire-breathing golem in an amusement park?

I finally beat Jumping Jack Flash on one star! Making me feel totally awesome and also now I see shrinking circles when I close my eyes. Never thought I'd get Tetris effect from a game like this.
I'm stuck on "Material Girl" and the song from Napoleon Dynamite now, though. Material Girl does some kind of weird quadruple tapping and I can't even wrap my head around the Jamiroquai song.

I'm addicted to the YMCA level though. I can't wait to unlock the baseball level on 2-star! Youuu bet kid!

I can't buy this game yet because I need to have enough money for the Wii this weekend (OMG) but I was wondering if anyone who's played this and Ouendan could tell me how it matches up in terms of difficulty? I'm really looking forward to getting this and I'm hoping that they didn't make it any easier because they're trying to cater to a broad audience or something like that. I noticed the game was part of their "Touch Generations" series and I'm hoping that doesn't mean Nintendo is all "make sure to make it easy so grandpa can play it!"

I think it's easier than Ouendan (although as noted above I haven't spent enough time with that), if only because when you are familiar with the songs the game becomes easier (which is the sign of a good rhythm game I guess). It is by no means easy though, I am finding the two-star difficulty a decent challenge and I actually found it more intuitive and fun than the easy difficulty.

Yeah the baseball level is quite good on two-star Alex. Let's Dance is mind-blowing. I hate the Jamiroquai song though, there is this bit in the first section where the beat just doesn't fit to my ear and I always screw it up.

I beat the second-last level on two-star and unlocked Cher (which is actually really hard after playing the later levels because it is so slow!), and I am confident I am reasonably close to beating Jumping Jack Flash. Yay! Is there another difficulty above this one?

edit: Another thing which would up the challenge would be getting A's on all the songs Soda, I have almost cleared all of the songs and the best I can do is a B still. Alex, have you managed to get an A?

Not even close! Like I mentioned, I'm terrible at this game! I think there are four difficulty levels.

But! It's not a cakewalk by any means. Lack of difficulty will not be a concern.

It took me a while, but I just beat the game on two-star. Now to start on three-star difficulty!

Daaaamn you got me beat. I took a break and got myself addicted to the first Phoenix Wright game.
I hope they make a second EBA. What were your thoughts on the Christmas level?

I thought it did a pretty good job of making the song seem better than it actually is. I didn't cry at any point though (lol).
